What you did was good if you're goal is to get over your own discomfort of approaching women through a little exposure-therapy. However, you will almost never get a good response from a woman if you jump right into an introduction without building some casual rapport. Most women are put off by guys hitting on them solely based on their looks. The next time you do a cold approach, try to start with light banter, or at least a conversational opener. "Whatcha reading?" "Hey I love that book!" "Shopping for someone special?"
Also, never comment on a woman's appearance right away, except maybe an article of clothing they're wearing (and even that's not ideal). Try instead to make a comment about something in your shared environment. "Hey, look at that weird painting on the wall. I can't believe someone considered that art!" This way, you don't immediately convey that you were checking them out. If it's not a comment you would make to a guy, then don't make it to a woman when opening. You can build sexual tension later, after you've created a genuine interaction. Good luck!

This^ become friends make a connection. If you give off that i need a gf to fuck vibe its never going to work. Women sense intentions

I get what you are saying, but how exactly do I make a connection like that through cold approach. Won’t they figure that I’m interested in dating them?

Yes, girls know guys see their looks, that's why they dress pretty or sexy. What an indirect approach gives them is plausible deniability.
It isn't a guy wanting her body... Noooooo ... It's a guy who is fascinated by her choice in books. 😉
Also... Yes direct approach can work, but only if your smv is high enough that she wants to engage with you in plainly sexual ways.
If you have a lower smv, just "good eye contact, I mention, and "hey baby""... Will read as creepy. But that same gut, friendly, smiling, "oh wow, I didn't know anyone else liked train books!"... Can likely open a 10 second conversation.... Which can open a 3 minute conversation... Etc.

You shouldn’t try to hide your interest. If you see a girl and think she’s cute then continue to approach and tell them. Just don’t come across as needy. After you give them a compliment then try and open them up to learn more about them.
Did you ask her what book she was looking for, or did you just say she was cute and your name? There’s lots of reasons she would not be interested, don’t feel bad just because one interaction didn’t go well. Focus on the positives. You had the balls to directly approach her with no Bs. Lots of guys can’t do that. Lots of women find that incredibly attractive.

Yeah, it depends on context. If it’s a random girl in a park/street that is just walking/sitting that opener is fine; but in a place where you can use observation powers, just go for the easy tells

The key is not being intrestedin dating them why would you wsnt to date someone based intial attraction what if she is pyscho. Be intrested in becoming her friend first if she is ooen to the idea who knows whstbif its not the right fit but she introduces you to someone down the road that is. And by having the only goal of getting in her psnts you killed many possible outcomes.

You’re talking about indirect approach. It’s ok if it works for you or many others, but saying that “most women are uncomfortable with direct approach” is misleading. I agree that compliments about look are creepy/boring/etc, but watching her in the eyes and saying in a confident way that you looked at her and you want to meet/know her is not creepy.
Many women, even the ones “with boyfriend”, are flattered and appreciate the courage. With indirect you have to “act” in a way or another, and many women are turned off by guys that are hiding their real intentions.
These are two different schools of approach.

Hmm, you have a good point, however, I did not say that most women are uncomfortable with a direct approach, I said that most are uncomfortable being judged solely on their looks. Which I still believe to be true.
If going with a truly direct approach, I still think a better angle to take rather than, "I thought you were cute," is something like, "you looked like an interesting person," "I really dig your style," or "I see you're interested in the same books as me." Especially when you're not in a club/bar setting.

I find it depends a lot on the venue. In a bar, or other night life setting, a direct approach works well. But in a daytime setting the more indirect approach is more more effective.

Okay, thanks. I’ll try to practice that.
[–]qualityyoucantaste 6 points7 points8 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
you did fine. you wanted a connection and left her with respect. it doesn’t sound creepy unless you keep doing it. 😆

If I could tell you have the stories of the cold approaches I’ve done where it was weird or stupid. It’s 50/50 and it’s a growth/skill set thing also if your attractive or not. I’ve approached women and probably creep them out or wasn’t direct with my intentions. I’ve directly approached women the way you did and gotten a phone number.
You did the first and hardest step. Don’t beat yourself up over it. That was courage my man. Keep on it.

Move on to the next one. You are normal bro and not a creep. Just because you like women doesn’t make you a creep, if someone says so then THEY’RE the creep. Screw what the white knights and players haters think. As well as women too. Start hitting the gym too if you need to and self improve. Hit the weights and start with basics dips, pull-ups, and push-ups.

Yeah, I would add : the more you approach the less you'll feel (and she'll feel) uncomfortable. Keep doing this , approaching directly. I'm in direct daygame since 1 year, and this simple thing changed completely my life.
P.S. "Creep" means "Sorry, I'm not attracted". And this is the advante of being direct : you'll know from the very first moment if your time is well spent or not.
Keep doing this ;)

Ok... With that setup... It's time for show and tell.
So, a year of direct approach daygame... And what has been your results. How many lays compared to what you were doing before... (And what were you doing before?)
Cheers!

Great job approaching. Keep it up and eventually you will succeed. Nothing creepy about your approach, what would have been creepy is if you had just stared at her and not approached. Or not taken no for an answer.
I personally find day game more successful with a less direct approach. Being super direct works better for night game but it scares a lot of girls in a more reserved daytime setting.
Start off with some innocent conversations about innocent topics, maybe some safe banter, and then build up from there. Dropping subtle bait about yourself (without humblebragging) while genuinely engaging the conversation, until she starts to escalate it to more personal questions. Then its safe to say she's interested and you can go for the number.

No actually u gonna be better at that by the time. Just keep working on it.

After about 3 minutes of pretending to look at books I walked up to her and said,”Excuse me, I thought you were cute and wanted to introduce myself, I’m ______.” She immediately looked uncomfortable.....
This type of opening comes with a lot of inherent qualities that work against you immediately. One of the biggest issues we have in this community is that so many people push for this opening, without realizing that they are already advanced and that the reason why it can work is that they are compensating for it with really advanced game.
If you look closely at the opening it offers nothing for her. You're telling her that you think she's cute and that you wanted to talk to her. You show me that you're not observant because you're offering nothing beyond your own wants.
This opening also gives you nowhere to go. What's she going to do, say thank you for the compliment?
On the other hand, if you had focused on your observations, opened on that, and opened immediately, then it would have offered a few benefits:
Your observations will give you more relevant things to talk about that people will more care about. You're more likely to hit on something they might already be thinking about.
Opening immediately instead of hanging back and watching without talking to her, makes people uncomfortable.
Her reaction was negative and uncomfortable because your approach was inherently awkward.
.... kind of mumbled to me that it wouldn’t work out for her and that she has a boyfriend.
A lot of women out there deal with guys who really don't handle rejection well.
That's why the boyfriend excuse gets trotted out because it takes responsibility off of the girl for rejecting the guy. If she represents it as if she's rejecting him, a number of guys don't handle it well and will harass her for it.
