Yesterday morning, around 8 o' clock, I invited this girl I've been talking to via text (we live far away) to give me a phone call later that night when I was free from work. We talked on the phone a few weeks ago (I called her in that instance, so it's the reverse this time). She told me -

Her [2 p.m.]: "I'd love to call you especially after the day I've had. And if I had it my way, I'd snuggle with you. No doubt you'd keep me warm 😋"

Me [7 p.m.]: "Happy to hear that, ___. Looking forward to it! And that makes both our ways. 😁 I'll be available anytime after 8 p.m. So hit me up whenever."

Her [Few minutes later]: Yay!! I'm out with my mom at the moment. But I'll call you soon "

Me [Few minutes later]: "Okay! Sounds good. Take your time. 🙂"

^ It should be noted that we are friends/potential love interests, have admitted to having mutual crushes, and that each of our responses in this chat were spaced about by a few hours. That last part is actually normal for us, because that's how the flow of our talks have been lately. A lot of casual talk with flirting sprinkled in. Spaced out.

^ This conversation was on Snapchat, where we usually text......but, as of this Post, it has been a full 24 hours, and she hasn't gotten back to me. The message still reads as "Delivered", so she hasn't seen my "Take your time" response but very likely has the notification.

  • Was what I said really that bad? Was it far too awkward/made me sound less than thrilled?

  • Was she hoping that I'd return the affection a little more strongly?

  • Am I overthinking all of this and maybe she was just busy?

  • And if she did get busy, why hasn't she followed it up yet by letting me know that something came up? She knew I was waiting for a call, but I've been left out hung to dry for a full day now.

It just feels like I fucked up...
