Difference between being 'cute' and 'hot' and how does it alter your game?

I have discussed this matter with a lot of my close friends. I never knew how differently most guys viewed the word compared to me, so it was very surprising. A lot of guys believe the word, cute, has a negative connotation. My best friend so eloquently described it with, "Puppies are cute. No woman wants to fuck a puppy." To supply his train of thought, another friend of mine gets called cute all the time and many girl friends see him almost as a gay friend. It is in the similar vein of when a friend asks you what you think of their significant other who isn't good looking to you, you usually say they're cute or nice, because you don't want to hurt your friend's feelings.

I personally get called cute more than anything else. I hear handsome sometimes, but never have heard hot. I have never taken it as belittling though, because women use it on me in an endearing manner. This drunk girl uses the term in a way that shows very high interest. It would be a far stretch to say this sounds bad. Cute can be better than hot sometimes, because there is some emotional investment involved. Men call women cute more than women do for men, because men typically tend to "like" the girl first. There are many beautiful women in the world, but we usually chase after a girl who has endearing characteristics we deem important to us. Physical attraction is only a part, not the entire basis for liking a woman - or a man.

It all depends on how the word is used. Like all things, there are some good and bad.

As a woman, when I call a man "hot" its actualy kind of shallow and im usualy only physicaly attracted to him. When I call him "cute" i actualy like both his looks and his personality and maybe even I adore him. This may not be true for all women but what she calls you could lead you to her true opinion abou you and give you an idea of how to play your game or whatever.

I'd say the difference is in attitude. Hot girls take themselves more seriously. Cute girls are more "girly". Note that the two are not mutually exclusive and it's all very subjective.

No one should alter their game according to the type of person they're talking to. Everyone should play to their own strengths and let their own personality come through. There's no sense in pretending to be something you're not just to impress someone based on what you assume they want.

IMO: "Cute" can come off in a sexy way or a not sexy way. (I know, this is some higher level stuff right?)

Don't read too far into words. Cute can mean a lot of things but it's more how she says it. If she's touching you, her eyes are big, she's playing with her hair, if she's asking her friends, she probably means she thinks your hot. If you've been talking to her all night and haven't made it to within 6inches of touching then she probably isn't thinking you're hot when she tells you you're cute.

The Truth: It doesn't matter. Don't acknowledge compliments. How do hot girls respond if you say they're hot? "Oh, thank you." That's how you should respond. You say, "Thank you." but in your head you're thinking (I already know that.) If you come back with, "You think so huh?" or, "Really?" you're telling her you don't receive this type of attention regularly. That you are not congruent with her compliment. You hear the word cute a lot you should be thinking "YEA I'M CUTE" what do you have to offer this cute funny gentlemen that all the other girls don't?

I generally am referred to as cute -- similar descriptions as others: humor, mannerisms, and personality get them attracted.

But you can still balance this with an "bad boy" archetype, by keeping them on their toes.

Also when it comes time to make moves you can still be cute and "hot" -- In response to some other comments, this exactly the pattern with me. Start cute and charming -> once comfort is established open up more bluntly and confidently regarding sexual activity.

I remember someone said that women are attracted to two things, dominance ane innocence, they love their kids but wouldnt fuck em, that might be the case if you're to cute. Girls might see you more as an innocent rather than a partner to late with. But bieng cute is good, just play your game right and it should really have an effect except benefits.

cute is if you're above average looks and it denotes a form of attraction. being called hot means you can have sex with her in the next 15 minutes
