As said earlier, this is when it matters most. Some people think they just have to be interesting for a certain amount of time, and then they can get fat and be a tard neckbeard. Wrong, wrong, wrong. As far as how often you should call, put the ball in her court. I've met women who claim it's the man's job to call them and they never have to call. That's called being crazy, don't let crazy make the rules.

The game has only just begun. The most emotionally stable relationships are the ones where the woman is into the man slightly more than the man is into the woman. This is because dominance in men is attractive to women and dominance in women is not that attractive to men.

In order to maintain the relationship in this manner, you have one single valuable bargaining chip: your attention. The amount of times you initiate interactions, the amount of time you spend with her, the amount of interest you show her, all are an indicator of your attention. She should be constantly striving for your attention, and not the other way around.

You can keep her striving for your attention by doing a few things. Make sure that she's initiating slightly more than you are. In other words, she should out-of-the-blue be texting you more than you text her. She should be inviting you out more than you invite her. If she's not, you can pull back slightly and see if she takes initiative.

When you're together, she should be looking at you more than you look at her. For example, if we're sitting on a couch at a lounge, I am sitting with my back against the wall, and she is facing me. I'm looking out over the lounge while she's looking at me. Likewise if we're standing, it's the same thing. She's facing me more than I'm facing her. She's pulled into me, while I'm facing out.

She should also initiate physical contact more than you do. She should be the one bringing up 'talks' about the relationship, not you. She should be the one asking to be exclusive, not you. There are a lot of things you can do to maintain this, again, all of which involved giving your attention to her when she acts accordingly, or taking it away when she misbehaves.
