Does the Mystery Method actually work or is it just false promises?

Mystery Method will work but here are a few points, and these are just my opinions:

*The "I'm low value and have to DHV to win her over" mindset is flawed and has the potential to enforce negative self-image and could really mess you up because you might start viewing every interaction as "having to prove yourself." This mindset really messed me up, but not everyone who does MM goes through this.

A focus on routines can turn you into an 'entertainer-guy' and you can get into a trap of thinking "I need more routines. More tactics!"
Mystery loads his book up with confusing lingo to describe simple things. To date, I've read the book 4 times and still can't differentiate C1 C2 C3 off the top of my head

But some things in Mystery Method are really good, I like push-pull and bait hook reel release and things like that, I find I use them in my own game. My advice is to use MM if you like it, see what parts of it works for you, AND read up on good inner game writers like Brad Branson\David Wygant\Alex Attitude that put out lots of free stuff to help you from falling into the DHV trap like I did.

Yes, the Mystery Method works great.

A word to the wise though, especially if you live in a bigger city. A lot of the routines especially the openers have been being used for about a decade now. So try it out and if some of the stuff doesn't work change it up a little bit.

it works, but it must fit with your nature. if not, the you are going to hurt yourself by faking it forever. it will kill you on the inside. its like being a successful businessman because your parents told you to do it, but you hate it.

Why not find out for yourself by putting in the abundant amount of hours you've invested in MM, The Game, and other such things and report to us with your Field Reports?

By all accounts it worked well for Mystery, that doesn't mean it will work well for you. I've met a lot of wannabe PUAs / PUAs, and I've never seen anyone use MM successfully.

Here's what I view to be the problems with the Mystery Method:

It's so complicated that it gives the newbie too many things to think about when approaching, causing him to be more stifled and nervous.
Too much emphasis is placed on group theory. Approaching and winning over entire groups is much more difficult and likely to go wrong than just focusing on the girl you like, and is usually plain unesseccary.
Comfort is over emphasised.
Being sexual is under emphasised.
Too much emphasis on social dynamics.
Not enough detail on escalation.
The method is actually quite slow at getting women into bed.
The method assumes you are lower value than the girl.
It makes you feel like you must entertain the girl.
It's not a very good method for introverts (as compared to extroverts).
It goes to great lengths to save you from obvious rejection.
Despite it's calls for the man to lead, it actually puts the girl in control. You have to wait for lots of signals from her which tell you how to proceed, pushing the guy into the mindset where he's analysing her actions too closely.
It's so easy to do it wrong, and when you do it will lead to you not fucking girls who wanted to fuck you from the moment you opened them. On the flip side it's meant to be good for getting the really hot girls who only had a small amount of interest when you first opened. I think it's hard to get to the point where you're that good at it though.

In a nutshell the method is overkill. From what I've heard, Mystery was more concerned about not making any 'mistakes' in the seduction process than he was at actually fucking the girl. This leads to a method that tries to make sure the man is in control and appears smooth at all costs, even though you will often be more successful when things don't go smoothly and it's all a bit hectic.
