I like this a lot, but the only thing I would caution against is number one.
I usually put my friends needs above mine because I love them and want to see them happy. If you're doing it for approval, that's cringy as hell, but if you're doing it out of love? Well, I think that's pretty damn cool.
And as a side note, don't let OP make you think strength is necessarily being macho. The best strength is simply trying to be a better man each day. I'm certainly not strong everyday; I cry all the time at sweet and sad things; but I'm committed to trying to become something better than my past self. Show that shit off to a girl, and it shows true power--because you've conquered the toughest demon life will throw at you: yourself.

I don't like the term nice guy. Most of those so called nice guys are not nice, rather submissive. In a cynical way you can say they are domesticated since early childhood to develop certain behavior patterns in order to avoid humiliation and through self qualification gain approval.
let me add one thing:
- accept being alone. understand that it's your ship and people just come on board and go whenever they want and that's fine.

Yeah people are mixing up being a "nice guy" and being a nice guy a lot here. It's really not that complicated: one has quotes around it and is new age term to refer to a concept where such a man has particular, unhealthy attitudes, and the other is exactly what it sounds like, a noun "guy" modified by the adjective "nice."
[–]AloofusMaximus 1 point2 points3 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
OP didn't come up with this stuff, Robert Glover did. OP is basically parroting the concepts from "No More Mr. Nice Guy", without giving any actual credit.

I get told I'm a nice guy and tbh I hate it. My dad's example of being a man was to let my mum walk all over him or sleep on the sofa (he's not a bad dad he did his best but fuck me this is causing me issues) and the consequence is I put my partner first in everything because that's what he did.
The result of all this was a 10 year relationship where I was used for support, a chronic inability to accept my emotions, and no ambition in life because my own interests were stamped out if mother didn't approve.
Someone in the thread used the term domesticated and that's what it is really. My mum was overbearing, dominated my dad to the point when he wasn't working full time or doing chores he slept on the sofa to escape. She raised me to be " nice" (read compliant). Possibly because she'd had an abusive relationship previously but that's just a guess.
I'm getting to grips with it now but it's a long road and it confuses people I date. I try to be supportive and they walk away which baffles me emotionally but then baffles them when I apply boundaries and turn down a friendship or tell them I'm dissappointed. I've previously thought they were nuts but on reflection I think this is what the issue is.
🤷♂️ Nobody gets the full parental package, at least I'm dealing with it now. Better late than never.

Thats straight up narcissism, its all about him.

I agree with this, but only by what is stereotypically defined as a hashtag “nice guy”.
You can still be a decent human and not make these kinds mistakes or flaws to work on.

You have to have possitive affirmations man . Like I said before you don't need a woman to validate you , you do . Let me ask you this .
What would you do if you did not care what people think about you ?
And the answer is alot we think we are magnified by people the truth is people don't really care about . I am meaning it in the best way possible . If you live life without caring about validation of woman you will not seem needy . If you not needy you are worthy . If you are worthy you will get to lift Thor's hammer . I mean ... Get a girlfriend. It's about being confident and not caring of what people think.

I feel like you mixed up being nice with being a simp
The word nice guy was used in the 1990s in the book "no more Mr nice guy " . Nice guys are defined in the book to put woman on a pedestal as a characteristic. Hence simp is a man with that specific characteristic.
So I short when I use simp I'm being more specific to that characteristic. Nice guys also have this characteristic so you can use BOTH. Why People think its two different words is irratating me

This is like the most common sense thing in this world. To be honest, if someone doesn't know this yet, they are either:
a. Lying to themselves
b. Stupidest motherfuckers out there, there's really no helping you.
And also, you don't need to be masculine or Alpha. Girls atleast the ones who have the personality of a white bread don't care about that shit, be confident and put yourself 1st.

Facts this dude don’t even know what a nice guy is. People so dumb nowadays
[–]Albus2000[S] 1 point2 points3 points 5 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
Well the simplest way I can put a nice guy is a simp (which is another buzzword ) but in this case nice guys have something called covert contracts which is toxic .
Eg I would do your assignment for you and you have to hang out with me. They give to get. They will never directly say let's hang out because their confidence is so low. The thing is you shouldn't obligate people for favours , you should care about them not caretake like she's a baby.
While an actual man would just say let's hang out I want to talk more to you . As you can see she won't associate you as business but as a friend. Most likely people would sign covert contracts unconsciously.

Your example is not even a "nice guy", nor a simp. It's just a socially awkward dude with low confidence which isn't wrong but let's be honest almost everyone in this sub are like this lol. It's not bad being this way. TO BE honest that shit could work if you do it with more confidence and you know that the girl is into you.
The example you gave literally falls on Creepy if the girl doesn't find you attractive and playful and hot if she finds you attractive and cool.
Imma give the real definitions to you. "Nice guy" -> A guy who will try to gain your trust with the mask of being NICE and being your friend ie. listening to your problems, giving you gifts without making anytype of advances WITH the intention AND expectations of you falling in love with them. When rejected they'll spout all about the good things they've done to you and it's so unfair. Most incels are born this way.
Simp -> A guy who puts a girl on a pedestal, will pay money for porn of a specific person they really find attractive, a dude who will pay your bills just because you're pretty and hot. There's no saving these dudes, Let them do their own thing.
[–]Albus2000[S] 1 point2 points3 points 5 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Well I got confused with the buzzwords but as defined in the book ' no more Mr nice guy ' by Robert A Glover . Putting a girl on a pedestal falls and under "nice guy".
Also you basically said "nice guys " manipulate girls. Which is also falls in that category. Now I think about it Robert A Glover gave alot of characteristics about nice guys. But Robert wrote it before the term simp was made . So I guess it's like a Venn diagram where elements of nice guys and simps intersect.
Nice guys want the approval of woman to be more confident . Which is the problem of nice guys you don't need woman to make you feel good about existing . Which is a trait nice guys would have.

Except that's not what you're implying with the post at all.
Your 1st paragraph states "If you're looking for love chances are you're a nice guy" so, you're saying everyone who wants a lovely relationship and doesn't want to fuck around is automatically a "nice guy"?
Your last paragraph also states " YOUR NEEDS ARE more important in a relationship" which is the most bullshit thing I've read lmfao. In a relationship both people's needs are important, that's why it's a goddamn relationship. You both put your needs and compromise. Ofcourse you both should have seperate lives and the other person doesn't need to be the center of your life, but a relationship is a RESPONSIBILITY in itself. YOU cannot just go in a relationship and think like " Hey I'm still gonna continue my life like how I did before, ignore my partner's time and just still focus on myself because damn girls are a waste of time".. Why even be in a relationship at all? lmfao.
These types of fucking posts are why there are lots of wannabe fuckboys these days. You guys gives these tips to increase "Confidence" while also making people more insecure themselves.
If you live like this then you're wasting your time. You shouldn't put women on a pedestal I agree on that. But the thing is you also shouldn't spout shit like this, it comes off as sexist and you not knowing what to say.Just say:
" In order to appear attractive, you should have your life in control, you should have the proper confidence, hygiene, and security before you try dating or seducting. Most of you guys fall on the trap of putting searching women first and not caring about your ownselves and in the end you guys will just look ingenuine, insecure, and thirsty"
Not about some "Be alpha" BE huu huu haha me monkey me put myself 1st me boss me no care bout women and relationships = Me confident. Lmfao.
I said your needs are important because usually nice guys don't care about themselves . I didn't say only care about yourself. Nice guys forget they are a person sometimes. I also said be supportive in a relationship not caretake. Implying nice guys do everything for a girl instead of caring a girl. You are right in saying it's a team effort. I should have defined it more. Never did I say be alpha I said have positive affirmations to make you feel better and confident . Positive feelings get positive relationships.

that’s not what a nice guy is, are you dumb. What you talking about is a b*tch boy that does things for people because he expects someone in return it. Always these dumb posts. The blind leading the blind🤦🏽♂️
