Okay guys, I'm so confused right now. For the past two weeks I've been working on cold approaches, connecting with people, and keeping a conversation going "naturally" as opposed to trying to follow some script in my head.
Initial encounters have been going pretty well, but then for some reason the next time I run into said girl it's like her attitude towards me shifted 180 degrees. Here's an example:
I ran into a girl I had worked with on a group project some time ago when I was heading home from class, and since we were both walking the same direction I figured it wouldn't hurt to strike up a conversation. So we started talking about the class and it was smooth sailing. She was smiling and laughing, I kept eye contact, the conversation was fun. We parted ways, I said good-bye and that was that. Fast-forward two days later. I run into her again during a break between classes and try talking to her again. Nothing crazy, just asking about her day, classes, etc etc. Her response was what I can only describe as a cold shoulder of liquid nitrogen. One word responses, and she barely looked my way the whole time.
And this isn't a one-time thing, it's happened on three or four separate occasions with the exact same results. What's going on here? I try to relax and let things happen as they come, but it's getting harder and harder with responses like that. Am I just broken? Maybe I pissed off a gypsy in a past life and this is my punishment, I dunno.
