After doing some reading yesterday I've decided to do an eye contact challenge.

I used to be really horrific. Weirdly bad at eye contact and I'm not exaggerating, I'm sir psychologists would have diagnosed me with anxiety. Since I turned 24 I started working on my game on and off (I'm 26 now). My luck with women has increased (not to mention the quality of my life) and on average without making particularly conscious effort I'd say my eye contact is now somewhere between average/below average.

My past attempts to improve game have generally been unfocused on any particular element and way too much reading (still worked reasoably for me fortunately enough), so now I'm going to try and improve many key elements further one by one to further my success. My nature from childhood is very non-confrontational so this particular challenge is quite uncomfortable for me.

So the challenge is simply to try my best to hold eye contact every day for the next 30 days. Not creepy leering. I'm simply going to initiate eye contact when someone (male/female) is within that range of not too far not too close and hold eye contact until they break it. I walk to work in a city centre so I have lots of opportunity.

During conversation I'm going to be more focused on eye contact to exude more presence, of course it should be broken occasionally so not to be a crazy person. This is more so engagement and is something I struggle with among groups.

I'll post my thoughts here everyday to keep track.

If anyone wants to join me or have any advice for improving the challenge let me know. I think every month I will move onto a different fundamental social skill.

Thanks!

Tl;dr; Trying to improve eye contact. Anyone wanting to join in/advise is welcome.
