Okay. It's Friday night and I'm feeling kind of miserable.

So, I am 23, FA woman who has recently put herself in the dating game. For some reason, I decided to give OKCupid a shot, to see what I can come with.

I was messaged by a guy, who seemed relatively nice. Hating to chat online, I decided to give him my phone number. We texted back and forth and even talked for a bit. He was really nice. He seemed really attentive, took initiative and was a complete gentleman. I felt that there was some chemistry.

Then, we went out. I think the date went okay, aside from the fact that I was late (though I warned him and apologized). We had dinner and chilled at his place with a movie. Nothing else happened. He seems like a really nice guy, but I'm starting to feel that feelings are not reciprocated.

After that date, he never did text me. What texts he did give me were replies to mine and could barely pass as a message. I even asked if it was alright to call. He said he would get back to me, which he never did.

So, we half made plans to meet today. He seemed excited about it at first, but yesterday, he told that he may have to work overtime at his job and won't be able to make it.

An hour before our meetup time, I texted him asking if we were still meeting. Which he said no. I even asked if he wanted to meet later in the evening, which was still a no.

This was my drawn out way of saying, I got rejected. I told someone about the situation and he told me to "next" him. He frequently visits seddit and has a lot of good things to say about the advice given here.

So here I am, asking you to elaborate more on what he was saying. Basically, how do you guys handle rejection? Especially from someone you felt was amazing? How do you move on quickly?

TL;DR: I, a female, had a date with a guy. Thought we had good chemistry, but the feelings were not mutual. How do I deal with the rejection and move on?
