I’ve been telling myself to just cold approach women, regardless of whether or not I’m attracted to them so that I can just meet people. I go to a state university with 40,000 people so I figured why not?

I was just so nervous that it was really hard. But I told myself, I have nothing to lose!

So I cold approach. I got cold brew from Starbucks and noticed a girl watching a video. She looked up at me, made eye contact but didn’t seem interested. That was fine, I wasn’t interested either.

But I was so nervous that at first I walked by her and almost didn’t do it! I literally stopped myself turned around and forced myself to do it and thank god I did!

Again she wasn’t interested so I wasn’t hitting on her just making convo, but she also seemed like she didn’t want to talk so I keep it short no more than a 2 min convo then left.

I plan on doing this everyday now so that when I get older (I’m 19 now) I won’t let nerves be the reason I don’t do something.

Edit: I get that approaching someone with headphones was not a good move, but it more about getting over my nerves and doing my first approach. I still appreciate the advice!

Edit: Wow! I didn’t think I’d get this much attention and feedback. I honestly thought one or two people would comment/ upvote, at most. Thank you to everyone showing support and giving me great advice!
