I have been lurking on Seddit for about a week reading up on some of the advice that is given by the members. I also read up on the DEL method and decided that after a week of reading all this information I should put it to the test.

We went to a bar near my school and bought a pitcher. As we played pool I scoped out the area seeing who was with who. There was a group of girls sitting at a table and I decided to go up to them and invite them to a game of shuffle board.

From the advice that others have given on Seddit I know that it is important to get you AA out of the way. So tonight was to get my AA out of the way. They accept the invitation and I was playing next to a HB7. I started to ask her about herself all the while by starting some kino. I would rub up on her arm with mine. And she would respond by placing her hand on my shoulder after I would crack some jokes. I told a couple of stories to DHV. I was getting a good vibe from her. After we stopped playing she went back to her group of friends and my friends wanted to leave. We left but came back 30 minutes later. They were still there when we came back but I didn't reapproach the group.

We sat down near the dance floor and the place had filled up since we left and came back. I was scoping out the dance floor to see if I could isolate someone. I saw a HB8 dancing next to her female friend. I went up to her and placed my hand on the small of her back and asked if she was having fun. I asked her to dance with me. HB8 - I will only dance with you if you buy me a drink. Me - I don't buy drinks sorry. HB8 - Well that doesn't work out for me. Me - ....What are you drinking HB8 - Whiskey with coke Me - Lets go get you another one.

So we proceed to the bar and I am following her with my hand placed on her lower back. We get to the bar but I ignore the bartender so I can get to know her. I ask her about herself and find out she is a colts fan. We start talking football and its going well. I buy her a shot of whiskey and we hit the dance floor.

There is a lot of grinding and we dance for about 15 minutes. I am behind her, grabbing her hands while we dance and running my hands up and down her legs (she is wearing a skirt). There is a gap inbetween songs and she says she is going back to her friends. I follow her but break off and decide to sit with my friends because it feels like she is trying to get away.

We decide to leave and on the way out I see the group of girls I first approached. I said bye to the girl I was playing with and told her my name and she did as well. Another thing is that when we were playing shuffle board I was interacting with the other girls to make them feel part of the conversation.

I post this for any critique or advice on my first attempt at PU. Is it bad to buy a HB a drink? Does this ruin the attempt?

TL;DR First try at PU and I managed to approach two HB, one of which I danced with.
