I think many people is very confused on what flirting means. Flirting just means sharing emotions, and positive emotions in particular. That is why many experienced guys will tell you to have fun, which is psudeonym for good flirting.

Flirting is not man to woman communication, which is under escalation, not flirting. M2W communication just means that you are clearly showing that you are there as a dating opportunity. Once M2W is established, mutual attraction is established, which means that you can kino and logistically escalate after that.

Flirting is also not innuendoes and sexual conversation. Although there is some overlap, these innuendoes usually happen sponteneously in normal conversation. That is why you should focus more on having positive interactions first, then only learn how to do innuendoes.

I think if you want a very concise and actionable definition, flirting can be defined as making others feel good about themselves. It's not only about being extroverted, but having the listening skills to back that up as well.

Flirting by nature is very shallow and surface level, you cannot flirt if you take it too seriously (comfort). That is why we have the value to comfort ratio, because the "value add" is the positive emotions you have shared with another person. Most people feel bad about themselves all the time, which makes it valuable.

When people feel that you are a source of happiness for them, naturally they want to know you a little better. If you read my post "the principles of comfort - how to make women fall in love with you" this explains why value must come first before comfort.

If you do the opposite, such as making the interaction akward, un-fun, ruining their mood, insulting them etc, then you are not flirting and will get blown out soon after if you do it multiple times.
