From what some of you may have seen in the direct game thread, I had tried the Apocalypse opener and failed horribly, but promised to post a FR after I tried it again during the week-end, so here it goes.

Friday night, I went to a club with some friends (AFCs ), and we took a table. While they talked and drank, I decided to warm the room first, talking to random people for fun (I decided to talk to a guy for example cause he was wearing a top hat. So peacocking works, even on guys ! ) It was time to try the Apocalypse opener. Palms sweaty, hands trembling, gulped down some scotch and approached a girl alone, i would say a HB9. ( yes pretty girls can be alone ) - " Hey. how is it going ?" (not smiling) -"fine ..." -"what are you doing tonight ? " -"waiting for my boyfriend." -"Well since he seems to have stood you up, do you want to come home with me tonight ?" this was the tricky part, holding the stare why she was confused, not sure if I should or shouldn't blink ( I didn't, it hurt my eyes ! ), she opens her mouth -"wow you're pretty direct. I like that in a guy. (licks her upper lip ) Unfortunately I am really waiting for my boyfriend. but if ever things go badly with him ... " slipped me her number and gave me a kiss on the cheek and left. I was standing there, confused, with a card in my hand.

was that success ? I was going for the F-close with the Apocalypse Opener, not the #close, and wasn't even sure if the number was legit. ( decided to not pursue this girl cause I hate trouble with boyfriends ). I wasn't even sure if she was telling the truth or not, but there was definitely some IOIs, just not the intense make out session that the poster of the Apocalypse suggested.

In conclusion, I would say that it was a mild success. the Opener definitely seems to have some truths behind it, and I expect that if I was to keep using direct game and this opener in the future, my success rate would increase. ( still a recovering AFC ! )

However, direct game isn't for me, and this opener has some flaws. First of all, I find that it relies too much on the girl judging you instantly, and making her judgment on your outer exterior a lot. if you look bad, or slightly incongruent, you might come out as a perv, and not the sweet seducer of Vicky Cristina Barcelona. Furthermore, the girl has to be alone, which is rare in hot girls.

Despite that, I feel that every PUA should at least try the opener a few times, if nothing else just to build up confidence and get rid of Approach anxiety. If you manage to ask a girl 3 sentences after talking to her to sleep with her, what would you be possibly afraid in the future of asking a girl her opinion on dental floss ?
