Well I didn't expect this.
This morning I got on a bus bound for San Francisco. It was about a 2 hour ride and only 3 of us were on it in the beginning: me up front, some guy in the middle, and this cute girl, about 21-23 across from me in a Lolita costume.
The bus makes a stop to pick up more passengers and one of them tells me my seat is reserved by her. I didn't feel like arguing, got up and changed seats. As I did this, the girl (we will call Sharon) asks if I wanted to sit next to her. I was caught off guard but I couldn't say no!
The rest of the bus ride we end up talking nonstop. I try to stick with typical topics like family/occupation/hobbies/dreams. It ended up working out for the most part. I found out that she's going to SF to do some light clothes shopping.
We get to SF, I didn't ask for follow up contacts after, I thought I would do it off the bus. Instead she heads to the bathroom at a train station and I go wait outside. I thought she ditched me after a few minutes but she literally said "I bet you thought I fuckin ditched you". At this point I was pretty sure she was interested in me, but my brain dead self could not realize this.
I tell her I'm going to the Union Square area; that's where she's going. The next 3-4 hours we go around the city and we end up in Japantown. I had recently just visited Japan so I was able to hook into several conversations based on that.
Since I haven't watched anime because there's so much to get into, a lot of time was spent with her telling me about manga. Had I watched more anime in the past, perhaps it would've been easier to hold a conversation about it. BUT she understood and gave recommendations.
She actually bought lunch for the both of us. I wasn't sure how to interpret this (although it was only like $10).
As she had to leave at 4 and didn't have a bus pass to keep exploring with me we ended up going our separate ways. To make matters worse, I'm leaving NorCal in a few days and won't be back until May. So because I have very little success in dating and this was a rare occurrence (the last "date" I had was almost a year ago), I think it showed in our final moments. We exchanged snaps and I was hesitant to hug her because I didn't know if what happened was a "let's be friends" kinda thing or something more serious. I did hug after she insisted. Mind you this is about 2 hours before she actually had to go, but as I said she could only go places on foot.
About an hour later I sent her a picture of the skyline and this caption:
"Hey Sharon, nice running into you on the bus, that was a lot of fun!"
"I think you're cute, if you want to meet up again I'll be here until Tuesday morning and won't be back until mid-May."
I have since been left on read.
Whether or not I will get snapped again, I don't know. Should I try and send something interesting back and start a streak? I have no idea. I think I could've escalated but I was unsure how to do this and frankly nervous and afraid.
I apologize for the length, but I am asking for your advice and suggestions.
TL;DR: Met girl on bus to San Francisco. Hung out for half a day. She had to go early, we exchange snaps. I sent a TY/you're cute picture with no response. Wondering if there was an escalation/body language issue.
