If you've followed along with my other posts, you'll know by now that I used to have bad AA and could never hold a conversation with a girl without stuttering and stumbling all over myself. The only reason that I mention this is so that you guys can see where I'm coming from, and know that a number close is BIG PROGRESS for me. And it was so easy too! I'll try to keep it shorter than my last field reports.

So the college semester starts today for me. I'm on this bus and I see this sexy asian girl, an HB8-HB8.5. She's listening to music (and I'm not a fan of opening in a confined place like a bus) so i plan to wait until we both get off. She looks like a student and the bus only took us one way from there so I just assumed she'd get off at the same stop.

We're standing there at the intersection waiting for the light to change so I open with a simple opener.

Me: Hey do you know what time the 80 bus comes? (I already knew when it comes)

HB: Umm I think it comes soon, like in around 10 minutes. I'm gonna call the bus service once we cross and find out.

Me: Oh so you go to SchoolName?

HB: Yup!

And we carried on the conversation, talking about what we were taking, why we dropped out of our previous courses, and so on. She carried on the conversation quite well, and when it would go silent she would ask me another question about my program or where I live or whatever (an IOI I assume). We got on the bus and she sat down and I sat down on a seat close to hers (but not directly beside hers) where we could still talk. I couldn't hear her well so I just moved to the seat next to her, which she responded by saying "Yeah that's probably a good idea lol". We continued on the conversation about school and work and other shit until we got off at the school stop. At this point I pull out a cigarette and she asks for one.

HB: Can I bum a cigarette off you? I left my pack at home and I haven't had one all day :(

Me: Sure, but you have to tell me your name first :)

HB: Oh I'm HB. (I was lighting my own cig at this point so I didn't tell her my name right away) What's yours?

Me: Almost_A_Pua shakes hand and slides her a cigarette

We walked up to the school and she commented on how I approached her and how she didn't even get into the school yet and she already made a new friend. We both had like an hour to kill before class so I told her to come eat lunch with me cause I was hungry. Old AFC me would have mumbled something like 'Do you...do you wanna get some food?" but i was just straight up like "We have an hour to kill and I'm hungry, come eat lunch with me". We talked more and she told me a bit about her family and shit. At one point in the conversation (I don't remember how this came up or what I said before) she's like "Yeah if I ever see you again" and I pull out my phone and am like "Here, put your number in." Simple as fuck! She even asked me to text her so she'd have my number and contact info. Then she walked me to my class and we parted way.

I think I may have given her the vibe that I was just looking for a friend cause I wasn't being that direct. And honestly I don't mind just having her as a friend cause I haven't met very many females at this school anyways. I'm just happy that I managed to open a complete stranger, keep a conversation going for almost two hours, and get their number at the end cause that's something I've NEVER done before. I definitely gotta start working on being more direct, but I'm proud of my first number close!
