So here is a follow up to my face book # close from a little while back.

While on vacation 3 weeks ago I was talking to the girl above and set up a date for the Tuesday I got back (2 Tuesdays ago). I go to pick her up and we go to a Japanese restaurant near her. Its very quiet and we get a whole section to ourselves. Unfortunately there were only booths so I sat across from her and no kino. The conversation was good however and all went well for a first date. I brought her home after dinner as it was a late night to start with, we hugged and I left. We text when I get home and she said she had a good time.

Throughout the rest of the week we text and chat on Skype and setup another date for the following Tuesday. Everything is great leading up to the second date and then Tuesday rolls around. I got tickets to a local hockey game because she is into sports pretty heavily and I figured its a little different from the cliché movie date. Good conversation on the way to the game and we had some decent conversation while at the game; but I think this is where things went wrong. I didn't take advantage of the situation and got no kino in at all. I'm pretty sure I didn't keep up the attraction at all and pretty much dropped the ball. The game ends and I drive her home, mind you it was an about an hour drive each way so there was even more wasted opportunity on my part. I walk her to the door, we hug and I head back home.

The next day I'm swamped with school and work and I didn't get much of a chance to talk to her throughout the day. I did send her text asking if she was going to be online after I got out of work and would like to meet on Skype; she says yes. I get stuck at work later than expected and told her so. She said she wasn't feeling well and would talk to me the next day. When I got home I do my usual Reddit/news/Facebook and see she as all these different lyrics posted as her status through out the day. The gist of them are alluding to a love ending, and typical break-up type stuff. I mostly brush this off but take note of it.

So the next day comes around (today) and I send her a text asking how she is feeling. She said she is feeling a little better so I try to suggest making plans for another date. She responds that its probably best if we just remain friends because she doesn't see anything more becoming of us.

So my suspicion from the night before was confirmed and I was pretty surprised as I felt she was really into me the last few weeks. Looking back at things I think there were just some general incompatibility issues and it just didn't work out like she said. But there are also things I should have done but didn't. I'm not saying that had I tried to escalate and use some kino that it would have built up the attraction and saved the situation, but if I had at least done so than there is one less thing I know I didn't live up to. I am disappointed because I liked the girl enough to want to keep pursuing things and I'm also disappointed in myself for not living up to my potential. These things happen and life goes, in fact I've been talking to a HB7 at school throughout all of this so I'll continue to read and contribute. Thanks Seddit!

TL;DR: i dropped the ball a couple times. Always advance the interaction and leave nothing to chance. Live with no regrets.
