I've heard in the past that the words you use in your opener are sometimes irrelevant as long as you're displaying enough confidence- last night I decided to put this into practice. I was at a club with a couple of buddies, typical AFCs, had their fair share of luck but still pretty clueless when it comes to consistently picking up. I think they're mostly used to going out with girls they already know, so aren't exactly experts at cold approaching. Don't get me wrong, I'm still a rookie myself; this was only my second night out actually applying anything I've learned since discovering pickup.

So they're asking me what the best way to open a girl would be, at which point I said, "Sometimes it just doesn't matter what your opener is (especially in a club, let's face it), you can get away with saying almost anything as long as you say it with confidence." At this point they're looking at me like I'm crazy, so I tell them to give me an opener, any opener, and I'll go use it. This was fun for me because it meant that a) I didn't need to think of my own opener and b) Even if it fucked up, it'd be hilarious depending on what my buddies could come up with. I should mention at this point that we're in the upstairs area of a club near a very high up balcony-type thing that overlooks the main dance floor. So they decide that I should approach a girl and tell her I want to jump off the ledge onto the dance floor. I spot an HB8 who's looking over the edge and watching everyone dancing, so I get up alongside her, wait a couple of seconds, turn to her and say "Am I the only one that really wants to jump down there?" She laughs, less than a minute later we're making out. clunk-clunk That's the sound of my buddies' jaws hitting the floor. Most alpha moment of my life right there. Turns out she had 2 friends with her. Much fun was had.

TL;DR: I picked up a girl by threatening suicide.
