At a Starbucks, I noticed a cute girl off to the corner whom I've seen a couple times before. Decided to approach as she left. When she got up to leave, I casually followed and stopped her as she was walking. Following advice from RSD coach Todd, I approached her from the front rather than calling out from the back or side. This will take a little more practice over time, as me stopping her as she was walking caught her off guard and slightly startled her. Oh well, my intents were positive. My words:

"I know this is awkward, but I think you're very and wanted to grab your number before you left." (maintaining eye contact)

Her response:

"Oh, thank you... if you're here next time I see you I'll give it to you"

I chuckled and said okay and went on my way.

Now I know that it will take some practice approaching someone while they're walking and/or in a hurry.

So I enter the Starbucks again and return to my work. I get a text from my friend who's outside, so I ask a girl next to me to watch my stuff. She politely agrees, and I walk away. I took this opener from someone else on this subreddit:

"Thank you...You didn't take anything did you?" (I asked when I return)

She smiles, and jokes back, "yeah, I stole all your money". The next 20 minutes consist of flirting and teasing as we talk about our experiences leaving things in public. I ask her about school, and eventually we decide to walk out together.

I walk her to her car, she says:

"Well I'm gonna give you a hug, since you're super cool". (Tip: always wear cologne...)

I hug back, and tell her she should give me her number and I'll let her know when I'm at the coffee shop again. She obliges, it's a done deal.

My advice would be to not let a rejection bring you down, simply go after another. Abundance mentality. I'm sure this report will be useful to someone. Thanks all.
