Went out to the city center on Sunday (lots of people but mostly families and tourists).

My strategy was to say "Hi!" and think later most of the time (often it didn't work though :D ) because otherwise I wouldn't approach anyone. Spoiler" no results, but still sharing:

#1 - saw a girl walking towards me and went with a loud and friendly "Hi!". She was surprised, looked at me, said "I don't recognize you". I extended my hand: "Let's get to know each other". She said "No" and ran away.

My approach was super weird, so it's not strange that I creeped her out. But it was funny.

#2 - girl at a zebra crossing. She was asian and didn't know Polish, so "Where are you from?" worked as an open. Slipped into interview mode from there, but she was a tourist visiting for a couple of days, so I didn't bother, wished her a good day.

#3 - girl walking towards me.

"Hey!"

"Hey?"

"Your scarf is super yellow, that's why I noticed you"

"Oh, thank you" *blush

"I'm <my name>"

*handshake*

*awkward 2-3 second pause*

"I'm so sorry, I'm in a big hurry"

*runs away*

Shouts: "but thank you"

Happened so quickly I couldn't do anything. At least I made her day, that's pretty cool.

#4 - girl sitting on a couch in a shopping mall.

"Your shirt is interesting"

"thanks" - looks back at her phone

"Mine is as well"

*looks at my shirt*

"it's ok"

*looks back at her phone*

She was so disinterested I wanted to leave, but gave it another go.

"Did you match your shirt to your bandana or the other way around?"

"Haha, just happened. I'm in a hurry."

"You're not in a hurry, you're sitting on a couch"

"<don't remember>"

"Ok, how bout you give me your number and we talk when you're not in a hurry"

"Oh, I'm taken"

"I'm also very busy - I study and work at the same time" (in polish "taken" sounds the samy as "busy" so I misinterpreted intentionally)

*explains how she's taken meaning she has a boyfriend and not busy*

"Of course I know, I'm just messing with you"

By this time she was engaged and it was going smoothly. That's the first time persistence got me through this cold disinterest, which is pretty cool. Got her FB to maybe go out for friend;y activities. She said it was very cool that I didn't fear and approach her. I said "thank you, but you were pretty difficult" :D

#5 - girl on the street (ran up to her and stopped).

"Hey! You clothing is interesting and weird. Everything has a different color."

"Haha, thanks"

"I'm <my name>" *extending my hand*

"No thanks"

*walked away*

#6 - girl walking slowly towards Starbucks

"Hey, you look very black" (goth clothing and stuff)

"Thank you" *blushed a bit

"Your face looked black as well, but it does not anymore"

*about to walk inside

"Wait a sec, don't run away"

*handshake

"I'm in a hurry"

"Ok then, wanna go on a date sometime?"

"I'm taken" *with a "sorry" face

*repeated the same joke as before*

She looked annoyed but too polite to tell me to fuck off, so I wished her a good day.

#7 - girl in a bus

"Hey!"

Looked at me weirdly

"hey"

"<My name>" *extending my hand*

"I want to spend time with myself right now"

"Are you meditating?"

"No"

Summary

My approaches were creepy because they missed premise, next time I will go more direct. Also I have to think faster and be more prepared, because "hey"s and handshakes don't take me too far. Still a good learning experience.
