Background on me: 25 YO male here. For most of my life I was the shy, awkward nerd who was pretty much invisible to girls. Got out of a LTR with my first girlfriend a year back. Started working out, changed my appearance, and am now shocked to find that legitimately hot girls (8-9) find me attractive now.

Anyway, I just had a second date with an extremely beautiful girl that I met through a dating site (first date was drinks, we kissed at the end). Overall I thought it went objectively well, although I was a bit peeved with her at the beginning because she was extremely late. She obviously picked up on this and offered to pay for our drinks, so I accepted that act of contrition and continued the date as if nothing happened.

Throughout the date (in between normal conversation/flirty banter) she complimented my appearance, touched her knees to mine, and hinted at sex. Looking back, I think she might have wanted me to take her home, as she asked when we were leaving if I had to wake up early the next day. Instead I made out with her in the parking lot, and she seemed really into it.

A few days later I texted her for another date and got the "let's hang out as friends" speech (to which I replied "thanks, but that doesn't work for me. Get in touch if you change your mind."). I used to get this a lot when I was younger because I was too much of a wuss to kiss girls, but I'm a little puzzled as to why I got it in this instance. Did I not move quickly enough? I know she was dating other guys, so maybe someone else sealed the deal before I did.

Anyway, just wanted to get everyone's take on this situation. Like I said, I'm still not used to pretty girls hitting on me, so I think I have missed a lot of obvious windows to take things to the next level since I got back into dating.
