Bring at LEAST $100/day with you (I take $200/day) ... any less and you'll feel like your mom at the grocery store.

EVERY time you go to a casino, go to the club counter (usually located toward the back of the floor) and sign up for a membership card. It's always free, and usually there's a cool promotion going on that can get you free stuff, and you have a chance to win big just for getting the card.

During the day, hit the machines for free drinks. (preferably in the hotel you're staying in if it has a casino). Put a buck in the blackjack machine and bet a penny on each hand, always stay at 17 and you can break even almost indefinitely. In the mean time, a waitress will show up to give you free drinks, just tip her well on her first visit and she'll always come back. (/r/seduction this might be a good time to scope out the other tourists in your hotel and see if you can start a casual conversation that leads to a meetup later?)

I'm not typically the kind of guy who looks for one night stands or anything, so I'm not sure what else to tell you about picking up chicks, other than to say that from what I noticed, it basically works just like in the movies, and I think that's because that's what people want to feel like when they're in vegas. If you're doing well on a table and you start getting attention, use that. If you're looking for a safer bet, try to find a fellow tourist who has that "what happens in vegas" sparkle in their eye.

If you do end up with a date, take her to the Stratosphere restaurant (on the ground floor) McCall's and ask for Willie. If you message me your name then I'll tell him to pretend to recognize you and you can look like a pro ;) After dinner, take the elevator up to the top of the stratosphere, either to Level 107 Lounge (amazing view through the windows with rotating floor) or just the rooftop view (lots of tourists taking pictures and being touristy) and check that view out. With or without a date, you've got to go there at some point.

Other tips: If you're there on the first friday of the month, be sure to be on Franklin Street ("downtown vegas") that night. They basically summon all the vendors and buskers and photo-op actors, musicians etc to come out on that night, and it's an awesome experience.

Be sure to tour the hotels on the strip. I'd recommend doing this as a long walk, and not even gambling that day, just going around to see all the sights. I recommend starting at the Bellagio where you can check out the awesome fountain show and probably get your picture taken with a Michael Jackson impersonator or something ... then head to Caesar's Palace and be sure to head down into the Forum Shops. This part of Vegas is really cool, it's basically an entire greek/french style city of shops (underground?) with a fake sky ceiling arching high above and beautiful architecture, statues, gondola rides, etc ... in some places it's over 5 stories high. A must see. here's a pretty crappy video of Triton's Fountain area There's a LOT more to it than that. You can walk through it and come out at the Venetian, then check things out in that area of the strip and make your way back to the Bellagio on the street. You'll be handed a ton of nudie trading cards (that's what my friend calls them, they're really escort brochures) and.

There are also some cool museums in Vegas, like the Mob Museum downtown, or Madame Tussauds, and an old neon sign museum that's really cool at night.

If you want to experience the old class of Vegas and have a really fancy dinner, I recommend a little place called Le Pamplemousse. It looks like shit from the outside, but inside is super classy and refined. The waiter, Keifer (yes, like Keifer Southerland, and he'll tell you) is an experience all on his own, the food is outstanding, and it's a cool way to get a glimpse of how Vegas used to be before tourism basically ruined it's refinement.

Oh, bring sunscreen if you plan on being out during the day. Go to Red Rock Canyon and check it out, it's pretty awesome. Take the park road around and check out the little weird zoo/restaurant they have back there. It's good cheap food.

Oh, one last thing. On the machines, they're designed to have a higher payout chance when you first start playing or they haven't been played for a few minutes. If you make any profit at all in this situation, cash out and move on. And don't let the Willy Wonka slots suck you in. :P

Edit: FYI, I experienced everything I described here while staying with friends for a week in Vegas earlier this month. I showed up with $200 and left with $5. I felt broke the whole time, which is why I recommended the budget I did. lol

Vegas is great for pick up. Everyone is drunk. Two girls came up to me and my buddy and me and another guy went to their hotel room the next day. These girls were in college like us. They approached us because some creepy black dude was following them. We met cheerleaders on the freeway from my school and got their number while going 90, writing our numbers down huge for them to see. It was really cool. I always have good luck in Vegas for pickup. There are prostitutes, but they can be fun too. If they find you attractive they cut the price. My friend go offered to bang her and her friend for like $100 and they weren't bad at all. He refused. Oh well, probably better.

One thing you have to deal with in Vegas that you rarely have to deal with anywhere else is working girls that just go out to the clubs and such. They'll respond positively to the game, and then all of a sudden try to get a couple hundred out of you.

I've done some fuck up shit to these girls, while I'm all for prostitution being a thing in general, I'm so upset when they pretend to be normal and actually work.

Vegas isn't actually as awesome for pickup as it seems on the surface - focus on finding bachelorette parties, or going to local nights at the bars (in the biz nights etc). Downtown has changed a lot as well (the guy who owned Zappos is trying to make it "cool") and I've had some success there in recent years.

Finally: eat at Musashi. It's off the strip and get Tiger as your chef. Place is insane and open until 4am.
