So like the title says. I’m 28 and all my romantic “success” has come from apps. I went thru all of high school, college, and all the time after that not having EVER gone on a date with a woman I’ve first met in real life. Dating apps have always been the ONLY way I’ve ever gotten dates, and since used them since I was 18 but even then my success is limited.

My longest relationship ever is one year (from when I was 22 until I was 23), my second longest is one month, and all the others I only met up with only one or two times. I go thru very, very long periods without matching with anyone worthwhile as well, so any time I get a good lead the emotional stakes are so high since if I fail it’ll be months or years before I get a good opportunity again. I don’t have any outlets to meet women in real life. There’s no places I frequent where dateable women are, nor do my friends know any women I could date. Even if I came across a woman in real life whom I might be able to date, since I’ve never gotten a date from real life, I don’t have to confidence or frame of reference to be able to pull that off. So I’m stuck using dating apps with all their flaws and having to wait long periods between meeting anyone.

At this point I just want to know if there’s anybody like me, those who only were able to have a shot at meeting women thru apps. I want to hear the experiences of those for whom online dating is the ONLY way they’ve been able to meet women. I’m well aware my situation will not change. I’m not going to meet women in the wild, or thru “hobbies” or whatever people suggest, nor thru friends. I don’t want to hear anybody’s generic advice about trying to meet women in real life, or how I ought to try “hobbies” or “cold approach” or anything like that. Merely I’m trying to understand my situation as it is, and how to make the most of it while assuming the larger realities of my situation will not change. How do you guys make the most out of dating apps being your ONLY way of meeting women?
