Looking through each profile and finding something specific was too time confusing. So I've started testing lines on Hinge and my response rate has changed significantly because of it.

The idea is to just START the conversation, then fill in the gap with their profile or anything else after they responded.

After various trials and errors here is my list of lines that WORK with some success. I say some success that if I send 10 messages, I will get 1-2 replies:

  • My mom always told me to stay away from trouble, so of course I ran straight for you --- Gets laughs most of the time
  • I think you owe me an apology, my heart was not taking applications until you showed up --- Gets some laughs and some 'cute' responses
  • How often do you fend of requests for miracles? --- They usually respond with, what miracles?... and you can take it from there
  • I think my iPhone is broken, it doesnt have your number on it --- Okay this one is a success 1/15 times, but I love it when it works.... I either get a laugh or straight up their number... if they send a laugh I just reply with "..... I'm waiting" and they actually reply with it.
  • Wow that's a lot of red flags, luckily i've never been one to look away from a good fireworks show --- Okay... This one is crazy but it works A LOT. This is a push waiting for a pull. They reply with 'what red flags??!?!?' but it doesnt matter. Look at something at their profile after or just come up with something on the spot. It gets the conversation going everytime.
