How did you approach them? Did you approach them from the front or from the back?

If you approached them from the front, did you make eye contact and smile at her? If she smiles back, you should approach. If she doesn't, move on to the next girl.
If you approached from the back, did you put your hand on her shoulder? This is most likely to lead to rejections right away, but some girls can also be interested by it.

Now, you shouldn't let rejection control you. Listen, I've gotten rejected hard when I approached a girl. It was my first rejection, and she was like "GET OFF YOU FUCKER!".
You want to know how I felt afterwards? I felt amazing, since I realized that I feared her just saying 'no', and I've gotten something that was even worse. I couldn't believe that I didn't get affected by it (well... I got affected positively).

TL;DR.
Approach girls from the front. Make eye contact and smile.
Rejection isn't a big deal. It's just one girl out of a 100.
