This is generally what happens - it's happened twice already, and it's an annoying trend.

I meet a girl for the first time. She shows interest, but I have to leave soon for whatever reason.

I know I'll see her in maybe a week for another event. In the week between, we'll text maybe once or twice - short, harmless texts. I start thinking about her because twice, the girl was quite attractive as well. I'll tell my friend about her. Maybe start thinking about how I'll go about getting with her at the next event. Basically, I start overthinking stuff.

Basically, what happens is that by the time the next event rolls around, I'm so in my own head about meeting her I'm constantly thinking about my actions, not having fun at the event, etc. Both times, the girl has been really happy to see me, and there was a lot of kino in the beginning that I could've escalated with - but again, I had already thought about her so much I came off really unnatural and she lost interest because I wasn't having fun and was instead thinking about her during the event.

Can anyone give advice/thoughts?
