I'm just going to throw this out there. Technology gets in the way. Use it as a place where people know you exist, but never let it substitute for the real you. Texting and video chatting should be at a minimum especially in the beginning phase. This is not dogmatic, but crucial to pull off this first impression move. Like all first impressions, you must look nice. 80% better to be in person. She must see you in a different, but better light. What is new about you. Nothing that explains it in one minute. Talk about it. Read some articles to articulate exactly what it is you're trying to convey. Example: You picked up are drawing. What have you drawn. What are you working on. What is in the future. Okay, now, moving forward. What did you do this whole time you've been away. What did she miss? Maybe you went to a beach. Something. It can't be nothing. The whole point is to get her to see how much you've grown. You may have a little trouble, so maybe go through this time you've been away from her with your friend. They may remember stuff you forgot that's interesting. Be interesting. You're not as lame as you seem. Just kidding. It's important you don't brag if you did a lot. Just be super regular about it. Here's my 2 cents. I think that given the situation you probably did everything you could. I'll assume also you kept it flirty enough so that she doesn't see you as just a friend. That being said, I'd recommend you to find a way to be with her in person asap. Only then you'll be able to see how she might feel about you. Body language says a lot. Keep it flirty as you did in the texts and you'll know where she is right away. The more you postpone being with her in person the more you risk being friend zoned or be seen as a shy or beta guy or whatever term you want to use. Girls, in general, like guys to act on these things.

You might be too early in the game to understand this. People tried to explain but it went over your head. Which is fine. I'm sure most of us were where you are .

Like a lot of the men here said, you're probably going to lose her because of your mindset. You're so worried on trying to get her to like you.

Your main focus should be this, "do I like her?"

Imagine approaching her from that mindset. You wouldn't really care of her thoughts of you.
