Do you ask them for a phone number, or just ask them to meet you for a drink next Friday? How about, “lets get out of here and go for a (walk, shag, drink, smoke, or whatever)

Don’t be too nice, just direct, functionally separate them from the group, move somewhere they can start touching you, then tell them to kiss you once they are getting slightly physical. There is more nuance to this but essentially these steps.

Edit: the shag part is to be funny, not serious, but if your actually a funny person, you could pull it off.

I am assuming you are not going for a close and assuming your problem is you are afraid to show intent and keep things casual, funny like friends would do. One thing is seductive strong eye contact that will convey to her that when you ask her number you are not going to be her gay bff. Another thing you could do which will be harder, is literally show the intent. Hey I enjoyed talking with you, I like your vibe give me your number and well have a drink and see if we are a good match. . At least that's what I do, so just an example. But you will have to put yourself out there to fail to get results. If you don't show any intent its the passive route to being friend zoned and its waiting for her to make moves on you and the showing of intent or the making of the moves is attractive to women. I hope I didn't write this all down and I assumed wrong about your problem though lol/

Often times I look back and remember this almost imperceptible fabric between “Not present (or there in the moment)” and not there at all. Not there at all is usually read by females as damaged, or arrogant, or dumb- all of which are as I’ve understood it very unattractive. You have to pay attention, but not care, you have to be true to yourself, but not walk on or subjugate (Except in sexplay sense)

If there’s any one vibe I’ve had that helped me convert interest from women into action it has been the “I’m amused and curious about every frustrating and defeating thing women can do to men’s egos...” vibe

I feel like it’s the dude’s responsibility to move it forward. Like the girl is afraid of rejection just as you are, and she’s also afraid of looking like a slut, so you’ve got to be the one who (smoothly) escalates and takes the risks because quite frankly, the girl doesn’t want to, nor does she have to in this day and age.

As for how to go about it, there are things you could look up yourself about escalation and sexualization and shit. But basically, you just want to make your intentions clear / make it known that you’re interested in the girl in a subtle way.
