I feel like every time I try to be confident in a social environment, the voice in my head kicks in and keeps saying things like "people are probably thinking you're a cocky douchebag" or "they'll see right through you, you just don't have the 'it' factor".

I'm pretty sure I have the potential to be a confident person because I've never met a single person in my life who I could imagine not ever being able to be a confident person. Yet I still can't act confidently without thinking that I'm being an impostor and people will know I'm being fake. Anyone else ever feel this way and how'd you get over it?
