How do you go out alone?

When I find myself somewhere new and I just want to make new friends I just find a local group/club that's into a hobby of mine, like hiking. You can also try a meetup group...where I am there are plenty. I met a few new friends looking at meetup groups on meetup.com. That might be a good starting point. Other than that I just try to meet new people during the day wherever I go.

Just go out, and make it a point to talk to everyone. I mean everyone. Don't try to get with any girl, just simply have fun and be fun, and make it a point that everyone knows your name. It's actually pretty easy, once you stop staring at the prize.

Know how old men will spark up a conversation with whoever is next in line at the checkout? Just do that, comfortably, with everyone, men and women alike.

The key moment of going out alone is the one when you enter the bar, I think.

Talk to the first person you see, quick chat with the bouncer, go get beer, talk to next person while getting a beer. introduce yourself to all three of them. You will have established yourself like a regular who knows the whole bar in less than 5 minutes.

Just do it. Just go out and engage people. Don't have the mentality that your night will go the way you want it. In fact, just go out and get blown off by girls, hot or not, as much as possible. Eventually, the more you do this, the more you stop caring about what other people will think of you. You will realize that your fear is caused by your ego trying to protect your self-image, but it is irrational because the outcome of your interaction with people has nothing to do with your self-image. Just go and approach. Eventually, your approach anxiety will start to fade.

i actually went out by myself last night...and had an awesome time. met a group of 4 hot asian chicks. got 2 of their numbers. met two hot blondes and got their numbers. met a future possible wingman. became friends with the bouncer/bartenders (didn't have to pay for anything except to tip them out at the end of the night). and its all because i used the advice i saw on here recently which said to tell yourself that "i am going to talk to 5 hot girls tonight" and it really worked. it motivated me.

Go out and have a good time without looking for people to hang out with. When you have a good time, people will come to you.

Find a place where you like the music and dance your ass off, then find someone eye'ing you and go talk. Be fun, and people will want to be around you.

Concerts! Always gives you something to talk about to the person next you, and if you find yourself on your own with just your beer for company, you're enjoying yourself nonetheless. Takes some of the pressure off.

Even if you go to a bar by yourself and you may feel that you are the most loneliest guy on earth just remember that you are trying to meet new people and that's even better than staying at home watching TV. Be cool, have fun, try to talk to everyone who seem to be in the mood for conversation and a personal advice: don't just try to hit on girls! because if you are trying to make friends and you get rejected by girls you may feel like shit afterwards. Talk to people without being annoying, natural conversation is the key. When you are in a new city you have something in your favor, you don't know the city (and even if you do know it pretty well by know) this is a great ice breaker, use this.

I went out by myself last Thursday night for the first time. I had an awesome time. I could go where I wanted to go and talk to who ever I felt like. Being by myself also added a catalyst for me to go and talk to women so I did not look like a dude who was drinking by myself. Highly suggest it to y'all.
