How to be captivating

I'm pretty good at public speaking, especially in front of large groups. My tips are as follows: Have good posture (stand up straight, you own the fucking room when you speak! Be proud of that!) use your hands to add to what you're saying not distract from it, make eye contact with everyone in the room for a brief second or two, speak slower and take pauses longer than you would when speaking one on one with someone. It's all simple, its just a matter of practicing and believing in yourself. Energy is contagious!

btw- I'm not saying just for the vanity of "dropping a pop culture reference where it isn't warranted"...NO....fact is Jake is probably one of the most captivating speakers I've ever seen/heard

from the way he uses his eyes, to his tone, cadence etc...the guy is captivating...captivating to a point that frankly the words he uses has nothing to do with the power of his promos

I know of a person that's similarly captivating. From what I can tell, she does the following:

talks in a low-volume voice
talks slowly
narrows her eyes as if conveying some sort of illicit activity
strong eye contact
astute and deep content

Granted, this is 1 on 1 conversation and I don't find her to be captivating like a white knight. Rather, I find her captivating in a bad-but-you-can't-get-enough sort of way. I'm not sure this is what any of us want, it's merely something to add to get things started on topic.

tells meaningful, interesting stories

Charisma/Charm based on talking to everyone as an equal whether it is the hottest girl or the loner guy so talk to everybody

I'd say (though I have trouble being captivating myself)

low/relaxed voice
speak slightly louder than usual (with diaphragm breathing)
take your time, dont feel like you have to rush to finish sentences
stand/sit in a central place
good posture
hand motions to accentuate key points.
eye contact (but make sure everyone gets a bit of eye contact, dont focus on one person if in a group)
