This is really good advice. I was out the other weekend and opened a 2 set who were immediately non-receptive, insulting, and outright mean (well one of them - girl who acted like a HB9/10 but was more like a 7, and with her attitude more like a 4 - the other was rather quiet). I had been talking to a lot of people at the bar that night (I was mostly working on approaches and conversation, was not trying to pick anyone up) and was really appalled by the attitude this girl took to a stranger.

So I agreed and amplified her insults and stayed in the set far longer than I was comfortable doing until they finally shut me out. It was weird, it was awkward, it was uncomfortable, but as soon as I was out I realized how little it mattered - it also made every other set infinitely easier that night as no one else was (or ever has been) even remotely as rude as she was.
