Hi all! I'm a long time lurker who decided to bite the bullet and make a post.

I'm a 20M college student who has a great friend group and social life, is part of different clubs/organizations, and is generally well-liked. Yet, I am faced with crippling self-doubt that comes into existence every time I talk to a woman I consider attractive. I can have a perfectly great professional conversation with a girl who, say, is a 9/10, but the moment I am in a social situation, I shut down. In person, my voice shifts upwards and gets kind of scratchy and I get really awkward. And on social media, like Snapchat, I stop being the funny and spontaneous person I usually am and instead go blank and have nothing to say. This has been getting worse as I become more depressed over this situation, leading to a toxic feedback loop. I've been this way since high school, often rebuffing potential partners or romantic interests and fleeing. I feel that this has to do with the way I perceive my appearance, as I think I have a weirdly shaped face and I am working on getting rid of my dad-bod. This has been a huge impediment to my personal growth and I'd love to move past this. What can I do to get more confidence in myself and my appearance?
