Say "hi" to everyone when you are walking around your neighborhood. This is super low pressure and doesn't need ANY conversation afterwards.

If you're walking the dog or something and pass another person, just nod and say "hi" or "good morning" and smile.

That's the smallest, simplest thing I do to get the ball rolling...

So many of us want to 'think our way in to good actions.' If the problem I'm having is that I can't convince myself in my head that I will be ok if I walk up to a girl and make an ass out of myself, how am I going to solve my problem by thinking about it? I'm trying to fix the problem with what is causing the problem. It's my irrational thoughts that are causing the problem in the first place.

It's 10x easier to 'act my way in to good thinking.' You go out there and fail. Fail miserably. It's an inevitability. But once you experience this by taking action in spite of yourself, you realize it's not the end of the world. This makes the next approach that much easier. There is no easy way around this issue. You simply have to open your mouth and try.

I've learned that pain can be a great motivator. It's the pain of being lonely, feeling unappreciated, etc. that made me want to change what I was doing in the first place. Once the pain of doing nothing gets great enough we either try or just give up. Don't give up.

Theres no shortcut or trick or anything special you can do or that someone can tell you, just say Hi, and talk to her like you would a friend of yours, dont worry about it progressing anywhere past a conversation, just talk, thats it. If you cant do that then just try to say Hi, it doesnt matter if you cant say anything after that, and she finds you weird and creepy, she will never see you again, and you will never see her again, nothing bad has come of it. Women dont want to be seen as wierd and mean, she wont call you out and insult you because you said hello. You just gotta do it bro, after the first time it will be easier I promise.

Learn indirect openers, situational openers. They are easy, low risk, and allow you to develop conversation from there. If they bite, you can continue, gauge interest, escalate if she bites, etc.

start out with simpler things. ask girls for directions or the time. that's it. you don't need to say anything afterwards... just thanks. this should help you get started.

afterwards, try to make the conversations a bit longer and take it from there.
