The context of my question is that a few days ago I was talking to a girl at a party and we exchanged numbers. She texted me to hang out so I went over to her room and we had sex. During the process of which I complimented her on her body and oral skills. I had a good time so the next day I texted her asking if she would be interested in arrangement where we casually could hang out, have sex, and watch it’s always sunny (we both love that show and actually watched it together after the first time).

However after speaking to a female friend of mine she told me it wasn’t a great idea to compliment her as it made me look too “nice”. She said (in her opinion) girls responded to guys who were not as nice to them and treated them somewhat poorly. Now I’m slowly starting to become “hardened” by hookup culture but even this seems kind of ridiculous. Was it really bad for me to have complimented her? Does it make me look weak and give her leverage over me? I’m worried that she’ll just end up curving me if I ask her to hang out again because it has happened before and the common thread I’ve identified is that I’ve always complimented girls, genuinely, if I thought they had good traits about them, and they’d all curve me in the end, so maybe I shouldn’t be as nice?
