So I’m a guy in my early 20s and in college and I’m trying to figure out the best way to move after meeting someone for the first time. I’ve been getting mixed signals from my experiences and I wanna see what other people think.

Last night I met a girl at an event, we danced, held hands, laughed a lot, and she was really vibing with me. She even asked if I lived on or off campus and we ended up talking about her roommate situation and random life stuff. It felt natural.

Before we danced I asked her if she’d ever want to grab coffee sometime, and she said she had work early the next day. But afterwards we still danced again, sat down, talked, she was smiling and laughing the whole time, and she didn’t give me any “back off” energy.

Now I’m wondering:

When you click with someone like that in one night, is it better to ask for a low-stakes coffee date, or just invite them over the first time you meet them?

Like obviously not in a creepy way I mean when the vibe is actually mutual and y’all already spent time together that night. Is going for a “come chill at my place” smoother? Or is that too much on the first link? Should I stick to coffee first and escalate later?

Curious what people actually prefer or what’s worked for you.
