Just going off your post (where you assumed we'd think the worst of you right out of the gate) and your other comments on this post, I think you might have social anxiety.

You should consider dealing with that so you can build up your self confidence.

Just talk to more women and stop putting them on a pedestal. Really just start talking to more people in general, talk to everyone and you’ll start to get more comfortable.

Well, yes. You clearly take yourself too seriously, you give too much importance to your image, and what other people think of you, and are basically a slave of external approval, hence why talking to women intimidates you because their lack of approval would be the worst thing imaginable for someone who takes himself so seriously.

So to answer your question, yes, there is something wrong with you, what i just said is what’s wrong with you. Your need for approval from other people, and specially your need to avoid disapproval from other people to the point where even asking for help is something you were cautious about out of fear people would make fun of you.

Women can easily sense all this insecurity and all this ego driven behaviour even if you try to hide it.

Yeah it's normal. It's only by doing it more that it'll become easier, you have to desensitise yourself to it.

The easiest way to do this is to open in a way where you can exit quickly shortly after without losing face. So just open women indirectly, have a brief conversation and then leave. Do it consistently, do it often and the nerves will start to go. When you feel the nerves have gone you're ready to start making your interactions more meaningful and to show more intent and to try to close.
