Don't try to game her or be clever. Your job is to get a date. Focus on the objective and keep in mind female psychology.

Be genuinely interested without being overly pushy. Don't try too hard but be genuinely interested.
Don't overtext. If she's not engaging. One additional text is all you can do but that's it. If she's not responding, you let it go, she may initiate the next day or whatever. It's stupid female shit but it is what it is.
Get her to talk about her a bit and set up a date within reasonable time.

I hate to say it, but if you have this mindset you're probably not going to be successful.

If I were you, I'd try and get at least one other date, if not several, scheduled, so it will take the edge off of the whole "I have to get this one right" mentality.

As for what to say, it depends on what your relationship was in high school and how old you are now. In my experience when I was in my early 20's if I recognized a person from high school they'd know who I was, so I would just say something like "long time no see". But judging from your comments she probably didn't really know who you were, so I'd go with the "Didn't we go to high school together?" and then just ask her out in after she responds.

I tried to hit you on the chat but whatever. I can tell you this, when it comes to that initial message honesty is essential. One liners are lame as with the hey whats up. Your initial message has to show her that you arent a one trick pony. She wants to know if you're able to generate and hold conversation. You also have to set yourself apart from the rest of the crew thats in her inbox already.

We all arent able to just walk up to smoeone beautiful and sweep her off her feet with a snap so tinder gives the rare dimonds in the rough that we are a buffer if you will. It gives us that oppurtunity to say something to make her read and reply. So think before you send.

Well, i don’t want to demotivate you or anything, but usually if you try hard enough you will fail when it comes down to women. You might not even notice it, but given she sees you from the outside and women are also a lot better in noticing things like “tryharding” or not being confident. That’s why it’s pretty hard to be in your situation! (Been there, done that, 2 times). What helped me tho, to be better the second time (still failed, lol) is meditating, before we had a date, or basically almost every day apart from that, try it! My father always taught me to be the hardest worker, in the gym, on a job, everywhere, sadly to get women you need to be the smartest and the most practiced worker (guys can pull girls with minimal effort, not me tho, not yet, but you know there are guys who can). That’s why it’s insanely hard at least for me. If i “work” harder i fail.. Given the situation that you want her really badly will make it a lot harder, but just know that if u don’t get her it’s not the end of the world! (I actually had better relationships after i “failed” at my crushes, because i know them well enough, to know that i got a better girl after, you need to sober out of the oneitis, before you can realize it tho) Always learn from every interaction! if you're worried about messing it up you're going into it with the wrong frame of mind already. be yourself, and don't allow yourself to be emotional about the outcome. if it doesn't go well, her loss.

Just don’t overthink it too much. Treat the situation exactly how you would if it were any other girl. Be yourself and just be straight up, no need to put on a facade and try to show that you’re something that you’re not. No games, no bullshit, and certainly don’t put her up on a pedestal either.

Remember, she matched with YOU. Hell, you can probably even jokingly mention that you had a crush on her in high school (save that for the date). Maybe she had a thing for you and was too shy to act until now.

With all of my matches, I've never matched with a girl I crushed on in high school. So, I can't give you any advise based on personal experience.

Maybe she really liked you in high school too and now is her chance to get things going with you.

I ended up hooking up with my biggest high school crush (from when I was 15) earlier this year when I was 25, the funny thing was is we had both moved thousands of kilometres away and just happened to end up less than 100km apart and I matched with her on tinder so I went down to visit her, reignited a friendship for a time and had some really fun encounters... It was amazing. I will admit though I messed it up later on by hooking up with someone we both know (it was a non-exclusive thing, but I crossed a line and I didn't even think about it and I hurt her and I feel really bad about it still.) But overall I look back on it as a positive experience and I hope she does too.

But when it comes to meeting up with her again, just be yourself. You have some shared history, but you are a different person to what you were back then so let that show. If you guys don't click anymore, you don't click anymore, but if you do, awesome.

Don't freak out, you will do fine.
