I believe you must kiss on first date or it won't go anywhere, this opinion has formed over many dates. Common thread between girls that lead somewhere is physical escalation on first date.

During the date you should let your intention known that you are interested in her sexually, heavy flirting, kino.. all stuff that people in the friendzone don't do. So that you'll feel when and if the time is right for the kiss.
