People feel what you feel about you.
nah. i know what this is trying to say - that self-esteem issues will repel everyone - but it's wrong.
Non attachment makes you magnetic.
in my experience, yes. if you've ever had a partner and all of a sudden during your day to day life you get the vibe that women are paying more attention to you, this theory might be why. when you are not trying to pick women up, when you're just treating them like humans, some interesting things can happen.
Don't chase and they will chase you.
situational. partially true. if a woman has a level of attraction towards you, she will put in some work.
don't know who this aaron guy is but he seems like one of the less shitty dudes giving out advice, but i couldn't imagine being a disciple of his.

That's an interesting take. Do you have a person that u'd be willing to be "disciple of"? Or generally, what you found out that works?

i guess i'm a disciple of a handful of men i looked up to at different times as a young man.
online though, nah. anyone who is charging for solutions has a monetary interest in you staying lonely and frustrated. the correct answers aren't the answers people are trying to hear.

Yeah I believe that.
So, in your experience and seeing others men you admire, what are the concepts that you like?
[–]RedditsOlderBrah 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
a few that come to mind would be:
respect in general. you give respect and you expect the same. you don't lie, manipulate, scheme, or deceive; and you expect the same.
masculinity and decency aren't mutually exclusive.
women in your life should compliment your existence, not fix it.

out of curiosity why do you disagree here? I feel like that particular line resonates with me
[–]RedditsOlderBrah 2 points3 points4 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
it's semantic. i agree with the gist, just not as it is literally.
i have a lot of self-esteem and self-respect. i think i'm pretty damn cool actually. but there are plenty of people out there who don't think much of me at all - and that's fine. that's life.
self worth is just the minimum requirement before other people have a chance of recognising your worth.

Are you talking about Aaron Doughty?

Sometimes you have to chase them so they are able to chase you though.

First one I agree with. Just look at guys when they finally go to the gym. Not only do they look better to themselves, they also start to be more confident bc of that. While if you’re body language and words shows that you don’t like yourself that’s off putting to everyone
Second one I agree, getting attached to a woman to quickly is a great way to make her uncomfortable and for you to get hurt
Disagree with the last point. You can do this but you’ll be limiting yourself a good bit and losing out on a lot of opportunities by waiting

Don't chase, attract- that doesn't mean don't approach. It just means if the Women is giving you mixed signals, become distant. It's like the cat and the string.

I don’t know who Aaron is, but without knowing the context I would say that the last 2 are true only if you’re somewhat attractive. Nobody chases an unattractive person. The question is, are we willing to put in the effort to work on the parts of us that could use improvement?
The important thing is: are we willing to work on what is unattractive about ourselves? If

People feel what you feel about you. Non attachment makes you magnetic. Don't chase and they will chase you.
1st - agreed. law of state transference. people will feel nervous if you're feeling nervous
2nd - basically teaching non neediness
3rd - meaning don't overly compliment or chase them and they'll wonder why you're not like almost every other guy

Oh yes. I like this guy. Aaron Doughty; he’s very spiritual and talks a lot about attachment theory. He talks a lot about his childhood trauma, so it’s easy to understand his point of view. He appears to be a trustworthy guy.
I can say from experience a lot of what he says is true. I was a receptionist for a medical clinic at 23-24. I had a pretty toxic gf and I was easily 30-35% body fat, with a round face, nerdy glasses, and short (5’6”). Within a year, I had some of the hottest women in that clinic asking me to hang out and constantly talking about me to their friends. I engaged with them with respect, no flirting, but the non attachment to their attention and my upper management’s respect got me a promotion in 1 year from front desk to HR.
