Don't lie. Get experiences so you have stories, i.e. go on adventures, observe your surroundings for interesting things, hang out with anybody and everybody, you know, do shit.

In the meantime, learn to convey value through your body language and actions. Typical alpha stuff, also work on your core beliefs, when you believe you have value others will too. That'll get you 85% of the way there, the rest will come down to experiences.

Don't lie. It lowers your self-esteem because you're reinforcing to yourself that your real self isn't good enough, and that's bad for game. You don't have to have an ex-girlfriend in order to have value. You can tell a story with un-true details, that's called fiction. That's ok because you're not trying to pass it off as truth. It can involve a fictional ex-girlfriend, so long as it's understood as fiction, for example by adding obviously fictional elements such as traveling to the center of the earth or wrestling with an elephant. In storytelling its OK to make stuff up, so long as you're not trying to get them to think that the details of the story are actually true. Storytelling is a great tool for displaying value because the value in it is the emotional ride that you take them on.

If she only sleeps with you because of your lies, who is shallow?

Is it you for lying, or her for only sleeping with you because of some story she thinks is real?

Unless its something like "Im Not Married" or "No, I don't have a girlfriend" you are just entertaining them, and lying about small stuff like stories doesn't really matter.

Women remember funny little details in a way that men just don't. You risk shooting yourself in the foot when she remembers and asks about it later.

Also, specifically about telling ex-gf stories, whether true or false - don't do it. If you trash talk all your exes to make yourself look good, she will worry about your judgmental character and also wonder if perhaps the common thread between all the problematic exes was actually just you.
