Making a boring study/jobtitle sound interesting

Don't try to make a field or job sound more interesting than it is. That would be a sign of insecurity. When someone asks you what you do, tell them and follow up immediately with something interesting that you like to do in your free time. Like "I am a developer for my day job but I work as a stand up comedian in my spare time". Or, you can just blow off the question and tell them "I'm a secret agent. Please don't ask me to get into specifics. For your own safety, of course.".

In the end, girls don't really care what you do. All they care about it that you are passionate about it.

"I'm an algorithm relocation engineer! Which sounds way cooler than the boring shit I do at school! Yeah! Let's talk about something fun instead. What'd you say you study? Biology? Ok well, obviously we're both boring. Let's go get a boring beer and start a boring club together!"

Or shit, I don't know, you could say whatever the fuck you choose. Don't choose to speak in a boring way and you can literally say YOU ARE boring while being a fucking blast.

Edit: I'm a valet manager, when women ask what I do for a living I reply, "I drive..."

They say, "Drive? Drive what?"

I say, "....the ladies wild! 😃"

Will you be working on a specific project? One thing I've always laughed at are these super serial job titles for the most peasant of roles. Don't let the title go to your head. Admittedly, your field isn't the most interesting and you're going to get that more.

"I'm majoring in computer science"

or

"My major is in computer science and eventually I hope to develop........"

You have to talk in an exiting way. Talk about it like in an advertisement. Make it the best thing on this planet. Better then sex. Works with everything. A cable, erasers, tissues, cats. Everything!

They find it boring cause you find it boring. What I say is: "Im majoring in computer science. I write code at school, at my work, and in my free time. I fucking love every bit about it."

Girls go crazy because they can feel my passion. They don't care about what you do, what they care about is if you own it and you're doing it because you want to do it.

Edit: I think the bigger lesson here is that girls will almost always mirror the energy and vibe that you display. If you feel awkward they feel it too. If you are happy the feel happy as well. If you're excited about what you do, they will be too.

I like to say that I'm a computer scientist and I program the robots that will one day take over the world. Poke fun at it but then shift towards your real job prospects and how they help others and shit. That's what I say, but I'm comparing that to my personality, so if that's not something you'd say then don't say it.

Well if for you computer science is boring do something else.

It seems boring for the girl because it is boring for you. For a girl the important is to be passionate, not the passion.

If it is your passion, embrace it and you'll happier.

I'm also in computer science, programming is my passion and for me saying "that computer science is boring" make almost no sense.

Passion and confidence are very attractive.

My favorite response back in the day was to just be short and dismissive about it.

One night in a bar my friends and I were talking to a group of girls. The hottest one in the bunch ended up beside me and casually asked "so what do you do."

I put out my two index fingers pointed down and acted like I was typing one key at a time on a keyboard and responded "I work on a computer all day. It's reeeeaaaaally complicated and it might not make sense to you."

Her response was "Reeeeaaaaally, well I'm a CPA."

My blow-off response of "you're hot so you're probably dumb" turned into a 2 year relationship.

Ultimately, when you get older, you'll realize you don't need to impress people with how cool your job sounds. Most people have shitty jobs and don't enjoy what they do. So simply enjoying what you do and making a good living will set you far and above the average person out there.
