Hey guys, norms when I ask a girl out it's either a more definitive yes or no, e.g yes is obviously 'sure' 'sounds good' etc, and no being "I don't want to" "No thanks" and the likes.

This is a pretty simple question but I just like knowing whether or not I'm wasting my time by talking to a girl, and I've gotten a few "I'm busy that day but maybe next time"s and I hate it.

Why do I hate it? Because first off as said before I'm not sure whether it was a definitive no, or an "I'm actually busy but ask me again later".

Secondly, I feel as if so much power was just given to her, I asked her out, she said no, she implies that she expects me to ask her again and then she'll decide yes or no, and some girls use this as power trips if you're not careful about it. I hear girls talk to me all the time about "This guy has asked me out three times now and I just keep saying maybe another time", so from this I actually hate this response already.

Should I always abandon ship? Or give it another go before dropping it?
