Essentially the title; it becomes so hard for me to breathe that it's extremely hard to even speak. That's to say nothing of the very noticeable and totally involuntary hand-wringing and shoulder shudders I get (yay, Tourette's!)

I suspect I may have some over sensitivity to adrenaline or produce too much of it, because approaching a woman is straight up sensory overload. I can't even hear myself think; my own thoughts are racing to the extent that they all crowd each other out and I just have this dull buzzing in my head.

It's also made acting in the face of anxiety quite difficult. The reaction of my sympathetic nervous system is so intense and the sensation so awful that I'm at this point more scared of my own physiological response than anything a woman could do or say to me.

It's also extremely difficult, if not nearly impossible, to hold a legitimate conversation and try to connect with someone when you're literally gasping for air every four to five words.

This happens with alarming consistency any time I try to speak to a woman I find attractive, even if I'm not even trying to "approach" her (I've done this even trying to order a beer, for shits sake...). In virtually every other social situation, I'm totally fine (if a little "off" compared to the typical person).

To wrap up a horribly long-winded diatribe (sorry!), I guess I'd like to know if anyone else has managed to get over anxiety symptoms as extreme as mine, and how they went about doing it, because conventional methods don't really seem to be making much of an impact.
