I knew a guy who would do these kinds of things if there was silence. He would just be quiet then would just make a funny smile or do an eyebrow raise. It would make her laugh and she would play the face game with him. When it comes to discussions, get out of your own head. Don't hide inside your skull thinking about memorized topics or techniques. You and her both contribute to a conversation and you should treat it like a canoe ride, not an interrogation. let the conversation flow, and try to talk about her, not you.

I have the same problem but I have being doing a few exercises that seem to help.Practice improv exercises. For example, pick something random and just go on a rant about it for 2minutes straight it doesn't need to make sense. The goal is to just keep talking for a solid 2 minutes without any silences that way it trains your mind to stop thinking logically so you can just go on and on. It's kind of like freestyle rapping.

Eventually you will be able to talk to a wall.

Learn how to enjoy that silence. If you are grounded and present with her, she will naturally talk about something.

I also like the improv idea for learning to small talk.

Just talk to everyone you meet. Make it a goal to talk to at least let's say 10 different women a day and people you already know don't count.

Doesn't need to be a long winded discussion, small talk is perfectly fine.

Also you don't have to be a talkative person, some of the best conversations are done by great listeners. You just need to know the right things to say to keep the conversation going. Most people love talking about themselves.
