I look back to when I first started going out as an upperclassman in college and it was all so new to me. Having a drink, being at a bar with the loud music, seeing pretty women, and that rush of talking to them. It seems like there was always an experience to look forward to as you explored a new bar, wondered what beautiful women would be there, and the rush of talking to them and seeing where it went.
Even when I look at the younger me from college, the excitement that was in me with college sports and going out to get drinks afterwards. Going to the bars and wondering what pretty girl you might get the chance to approach and get things going with. There was something to going out when I was in my early 20s and even mid 20s, wondering what the night might result in.
Then over the years, as the failures and successes pile up (mostly failures), you see some of the nastier parts of nightlife, of female nature, how shallow and vain nightlife can really be, and how once you get laid that is that.
Even now as we live in a society where in some places like NYC, you need to show a vaccination card to even be allowed into clubs. I feel as if that coupled in with age and having done it for years has made me lose that excitement for nightgame I used to have in my early 20s.
Assuming you don't want to get married with kids anytime soon, is there a point where as an older guy you just abandon going out for drinks to meet women or going out to bars in general? How do you fight the bitterness and negative feelings that may develop over the years?
