So Im sure about 90% of this sub is made up of guys who are extremely insecure, myself being one of them. And insecure guys overcompensate. Especially when following all this "dont let her tell you what to do" type advice.
We all like to believe we arent that guy that overcompensates for their small dick (aka any insecurity you struggle with) at every turn, but the fact is we all overcompensate all too easily.
After reading MM's Models, Ive started to see that "The Pain Period" and "False Confidence" are phases we go through to get to the place he calls "True Confidence", which is where every guy strives to be. When in the Pain Period and the pain becomes too heavy we sometimes fall into False Confidence as a defense mechanism to make ourselves feel better and treat people like shit for an ego boost. Thats a form of overcompensation, and again it usually happens all too easily when youre trying to hide your real feelings of insecurity from a girl you're trying to get with or when around a friend who has a seemingly better life than yours.
My question is, how can I recognize when Im overcompensating and correct myself in the moment?
E.g. how do I know when I should do what a girl asks without having to feel like a chump for it?
I know I should do what I want to, and if I dont want to help her thats just the way it is, but in practice its alot harder than in theory.
Thanks for any advice
