You are not the center of the universe. Everyone tends to be self-absorbed and are worried about themselves to care much about others specially strangers.

When you are out there, how often do you pay close attention to what strangers are doing?

Never.

Do you even remember their faces the next day or even after one hour has passed? You don’t.

If you live in a major city, you will never see or interact with 90% of people ever again. The other 9% maybe you’ll see them again but they probably won’t care about you nor does it matter what they think about you. The last 1% it only marginally matters what they think of you (I’m hesitant to say it doesn’t matter at all) So most of this fear is irrational.

To get over it, approach women when other people are watching. Show yourself that you can do it and nothing bad happens.

So long as you are respectful about it, then the only outcomes from people that overhear/see are:

Other girls will be jealous that a guy didn't approach them and be attracted to you (this is assuming, if you're declined, that you don't take it personally and keep your composure).

The girl you approach will be impressed by your boldness, the fact that you're able to not be deterred by public opinion, that you're going for what you want.

Other guys will be jealous that you have the guts to do this.

If a guy does have a problem with it, he is either the boyfriend or a guy friend who secretly likes her, and he'll try to get you to leave somewhat aggressively out of his own insecurities.

If a girl does have a problem with it, she's a less attractive friend who envies the attention her friend receives, or she's a friend who has watched too many tv shows about girls being murdered by strangers.

If she's a random female stranger who's like "this is harrassment!" or "leave her alone!", then she's a blue-pill control freak who is either alone, or has an emasculated boyfriend/husband who she subconsciously resents because he makes her take the masculine role and responsibility for their household. She subconsciously is attracted to you for your masculinity but can't admit it to herself, as it would shatter her world view. Thus her outburst and overcompensation.

Ultimately, youre a guy who sees a girl he's interested in getting to know better. What action does the world expect us to take?

Really stupid if you think about it. Society is all about: "Go after what you want! Take the risk! Be bold! Say what you mean! Express yourself freely!"

And in the most basic version of: Guy sees beautiful girl. Guy wants to talk to beautiful girl. There comes this stigma of NO DONT DO THAT. What's funny is that it's not even really imposed from the outside. Somehow this has been slipped into our subconsious through media and conditioning.

That's a normal feeling and I can relate. I think the best way to get around it is to remind yourself that no one really gives a fuck about what you do or say (mean that in the most constructive way possible 😂). At the end of the day, most people are too worried about whether they themselves look stupid or not 😂. Even though this feeling could be quite strong, try your best to ignore it and think logically (may be difficult at first but give it a try).
