Relax, being comfortable is most important. In general, open and show your crotch as a pride man.

Legs open, with one or two feet little away from your body. (knees never together) -or- Use one of your leg/knee as a table for your other leg

Arms open, most important is that you keep your elbows not too close to your body. Try feel the difference in look and feeling in a mirror.

You asked for your arms: Hands nearby crotch or, use one as face rester, or just slide one arm away, resting like possible on a coach. In all posses elbows should not touch your chest, have a little space in between.

Shoulders always down

If you sit at a table, you can rest your elbow on it and then support your chin with your hand. It's also nice for stroking your beard if you sport one. This can be your sort of "playful" pose.

You can also try "steepling" – I read about it in the book "What every Body is saying (which I recommend if you are interested in body language). This pose expresses confidence. You can find images of it on the web. A subtler alternative to this is to cross your hands like you're praying, only a bit more open. Or you can just cross your thumbs.

If there is nothing to lean on, you can still cross your arms and support your chin with one arm. Leaning on something probably expresses dominance, just don't act like in sit-coms, where insecure guys (think Alan from Two and a Half Men) try to lean on things but look dorky.

I'm not very good at describing this as English is not my first language, but maybe you got some ideas out of it.

If you want to get really theoretical there's 3 zones which when uncovered are signs of an 'alpha'.

1. Throat

You know how in the animal kingdom submissive animals lower there head (hiding their throat)- same for when they're about to fight, and the dominant ones have a raised head (showing their throat). Same works for humans- deep down it's not being afraid of being attacked, basically comes down to confidence.

2. Heart

Same principle- chest forward vs shoulders front + crossed arms. Arms to the sides.

3. Crotch

Same principle- don't cover it, don't put your knees close together- sit with your legs apart.

Sitting up straight is fine as long as it doesn't convey you being tense and alert- arms to the sides, either semi-stretched over a bar (Can't come up with the correct English word) or a bit closer to your sides.

Obviously you have to be comfortable and relaxed with it.

Legs apart, arms resting on something. Slouch. Sprawl. Put your feet up, rest your head.

Nervous people and subordinates sit upright in defensive postures. Dominant males drape themselves over the furniture like a sleepy cat.

If you were at a bar, I'd suggest standing instead. It gives you a lot more freedom to interact with people. Of course, that's only if they're standing too.

I believe that everything you do is "alpha" (I loathe the term, but it's useful) because you are "alpha" to the very core of you. Even if you have poor body language, you are still "alpha" because situational body language does not affect your self-value. Conversely, simply having good body language does not suddenly make you the man. Just sit comfortably, whichever way you like sitting. I'm extremely comfortable having "closed" body language, and that doesn't stop me from projecting positive emotions regardless.
