No hate to anime lovers. Like I said, I used to love anime. Watched it and even rocked a DBZ hawaiian shirt going to school. I made it fucking cool. But these guys let it consume their lives. I hate it. 2/20 boys in my generation didn't make it past freshman year of community college. I don't attribute anime to this fact, but it helps them escape. Get lost in the story, distracts them from their lives, socializes with values that were implemented because these stories are only ideas of what could be, but the world doesn't work that way.

You're not going to have some special power, not a special skill unless you've earned it, and girls aren't going to fall in your lap if you are insecure, deprecating, and shy like some of the main heroes of these stories. Maybe the girls might if you fish long enough, but it'll be a long wait on the boat of life.

Theres always great anime, inspiration anime, and anime that I've seen that inspires some philosophies I hold, but at the end of the day, you're sitting at home, the world goes around without you waiting around wasting your days observing the game and you're not even playing. Grab her reins and make it your own damn it. Some have grown out of it, but I just wish... I don't know. I just want to grab their volumes of torrented anime and throw it out. Take em out of a spin of life (I and try to bringing them to parties, inviting them to outtings) and if they decide they want to do what they've been doing; they can go right a fucking head. It's their life.

It just hard because the anime they are attracted to (ones that maybe be representative of their life) are apathetic figures who are introverts. I want a better life for the friends I grew up with. It feeds that mentality. They will live happy lives maybe and find all they seek or desire, but it's a maybe. A man can only take that lifestyle for so long before going insane.

I know but there's something they haven't seen. I don't know if you grew up poor, but you don't get exposed to many luxuries of life. Consider too there's just a lack of role models for them as well. Most of these kids parents didn't teach them a lot due to their circumstances. I know I can't throw away their anime and I've stated that if they choose it above all else; so be it. It's their life. Life isn't all about girls of course but most of my old friends have never been with one. It's just many have seen it and despite all that use it as a crutch to fall back on when it gets rough. I come from a small ethnic demographic. These are my people. If two out of twenty kids make it beyond high school, experiencing the world, and enriching the rest of the community, that'd be amazing. I hope to have a charity someday for the next generation of kids who grow up so they may never have to worry too much about financing school.

Sounds awful of me. I look outside and literally see Haiti. Okay well not as bad haha. Little naked kids running around asking , "Eh gunkers! Can I get twentyfive cent for mint julep!" Trash in the street. Cookie the crackhead rummages through my garbage at 3AM in the morning so she can buy some crack. Domestic violence is everywhere. Cops don't even come for calls anymore. It's fucking rough and these kids I grew up with ignored that strife outside and turned inward. Anime, video games, and social media. Video games are a large part of it too. We consumes with other things so who am I to judge, but at the end of the day when I see them at like a party (which is rare) I see apathy in their eyes and the whole question: Why cant I have the nice things like those other kids across the Interstate (the Suburbs). We're all young and it's never to late for change but I can only control my own actions. A hoodlum can dream can't he?

But that said I'm here discussing online. They'll still be childhood friends, but I just want them to experience these pleasures. Teach them that apathy isn't the answer. Going out, not be so intimidated by girls (especially girls of other color which is a huge factor), and life in general. You obviously (as do I) have a mentality that many people who have knowledge, who can be observant of others and who have wisdom can say, "Yeah it's their life, the world spins around regardless, they will change on their own accord cause that's the only way a person can change." This is true. But the environment is so stratifying, the habits and comforts are so alluring that its hard to believe that. They live out of balance with their own nature and as a result a negative, apathetic mood, exhibits them. I was like that at one point.

Everyone needs some sort of help. Nothing forceful as throwing away their anime but just to experience the other side of the die even for a day or two.

The issue resolves much deeper than anime of course, but as you said too much of anything is a bad thing. This is something they've had far too much of. I hope that can clarify a bit.
