So what misconceptions do you want to clear up? What do you say to the people who say this is a subreddit of shallow, hyper-masturbatory beta-males? Or that it turns human interaction into some 'game'?

Who cares? If someone is locked into some preconceived notion about something and you try talking to them

you are gonna have a bad time.

That's all there is to it. Haters are gonna hate, and there isn't much that I can say that would change their internet mind, nor do I fucking care.

The goal of seddit is not to teach you how to have sex with every woman you meet. It's mostly for boosting personal confidence, and your sense of selfworth, which has made me more productive in every aspect of my life, including school.

There are some FR's not related to pickup at all, but are just people interacting with other people and landing amazing jobs just because they chatted (albeit, maybe a little flirtily) with a lady at a coffee shop.

FR's are for summing up thoughts for yourself after a night up, and so others can learn from your mistakes or draw inspiration from your successes.

All the acronyms and terms might seem silly, but it makes it a hell of a lot easier to discuss things. Rather than typing out a paragraph detailing exactly when and how you touched someones shoulder, then their lower back, you can just say you "escalated kino". Rather than a detailed explanation of what someone looks like, you can use the "HB" scale to give an idea of their attractiveness.

The "seduction community" was started by Ross Jefferies who taught Neuro-Linguistic Programming to various men who would pay for his materials. So as you can tell this whole community has been infected by moneymaking schemes from the very beginning, and that affects it negatively. DESPITE the fact the Jefferies made a great teacher and NLP is a rich area of study that I would recommend to anyone.

Anyway the community gained prominence when a magician wearing platform shoes and a fuzzy hat showed up. Also a guy who wrote for Rolling Stone magazine wrote a book called The Game where he tried to convince guys that he actually had a hard time getting laid when he was touring with Motley Crue (hahaha).

The combination of these two opportunistic individuals, aka Mystery and Style, brought in a lot of fresh blood, guys who were young and frustrated with dating, who had very little social skill in the first place, and who bought into the idea that you could play girls like a video game. Just push all the right buttons and out pops the pussy. (Not that that's not true, but not in the way they thought).

So now you had a bunch of guys "running game" on women at nightclubs, going through phases A1/A2/A3, etc., and then when successful (despite their shitty "game") they would write field reports about it, encouraging a bunch of other guys to try their shitty game. Mass frustration ensued. Exactly the opposite of what was supposed to happen to the average FRUSTRATED chumps (AFC's).

The community did not get better after this, it got worse. More and more men joined up, from all walks of life, trying to help each other but failing to understand the uniqueness of each other's problems. The problems you had in high school are nothing like the problems you are facing in college or in your late 30's or 60's or god knows when your dick stops getting hard.

And furthermore the community was originally supposed to be about SEDUCTION as you can tell from the URL, NOT about self-improvement. But here we are, on a subreddit with over 50 thousand subscribers. So it had to change its mission statement somewhat. The most striking thing about this subreddit is that huge number. Just think about it, 50,000 men unsatisfied with dating. Something is clearly rotten in the state of Denmark. We seem to be at war with the opposite sex, and are just starting to figure out what that means. Battle lines are being drawn. And a lot of men decided to plant their flags right here. Interesting, no?

So we are here to learn manipulation, despite what the apologists try to tell you. There is nothing inherently wrong with this. A mother must manipulate her baby to help it survive. Ghandi and Hitler were equally charismatic. It's up to the individual to find his moral compass, and it has been a cornerstone of this community for a long time that we would not discuss morality, as it is a useless avenue of discussion if you're trying to figure out how to get your dick wet. Evolution does not hand out morality points.

But worse than the occasional diversions into morality land is the aforementioned lack of understanding that different men are on different walks of life. The bro-science is way too strong here. Anyone can make a statement about what women like, and why, and it will be impossible to disprove. At least the opinions of women are not valued here but we need to be skeptical of what men say too. Mystery is a celebrity, thus anything he says needs to be taken with a grain of salt. He might just be running "celebrity game" that would only serve as a useful template to other celebrities. Same as all the rest of the "PUA's" especially charlatans like AFCAdam who parades his trophy wife around in an attempt to sell $6000 CD sets. And don't even get my started about RSD.

If you haven't been able to tell, human interaction IS a game and always will be. The goal here is to make it into a fun game, one where you and your lucky female conquest can BOTH win. The truth is that there is still a desperate shortage of quality men in this world, who know how to handle a woman and satisfy her most primal needs.

And if we can learn how to not get played in the process by a chick who knows her game back and front (and you better believe that women are way ahead of us on this), all the better.

For most of my life, I've been extremely clueless about how social interactions (and in particular social interactions between men and women) worked. For a long time I didn't even realize it - I mean, I knew that I wasn't having any luck with women, but it never occurred to me that maybe I could just learn how to do it. I thought (because this is what I had been told all my life) that I was just supposed to wait around until The Right Woman came along and then somehow everything would magically work out.

Then I stumbled across the community. And now I'm starting to get it. I'm starting to notice when I'm about to say something that would make me come across as needy or insecure or boring, and sometimes I know what kinds of things I could say instead to come across as interesting and confident and warm and fun.

As far as I can tell, when people accuse the community of teaching men to "be manipulative" or "play games", what they really mean is that the community is teaching men to understand what they're doing. They're afraid that men will use this knowledge to lie to women, to trick them into bed by telling them exactly what they want to hear.

But I've got no interest in lying to women - in fact, if anything, the community has taught me to be more honest about my intentions, to get my sexual desire out in the open.

And I really like understanding what I'm doing. It's way, way better than the alternative.
